I had the Cajun Power Chili mix the other day and I thought it was pretty damn good.
Anybody have their easy make Chili mix they go to when they want to make a quick, easy chili?

Cajun Power Chili mix
Never tried it but their other stuff is good
I use Wick Fowlers

I use the 2 Alarm with a little modification, add 1 onion and 1 can rotel and use 3 pounds of meat I stead of 2. It's good stuff.

I've used this the past couple time I've made chili. I use it as a starter and add to it. Probably time to make it again.

That’s some good stuff. I’m a Carroll Shelby Texas Chili kit man. That Wick Fowler’s taste great but gives me heartburn bad the next day. I’ve often wondered if it’s too much cumin doing that I just don’t know.
Sometimes I use Carroll Shelby and Wick Fowler’s with 6 pounds of meat and like the finished product.

I don’t think that’s unique to Fowler’s. At least it isn’t to me but it’s worth it.

Got Blaze makes a KILLER chili mix
Can you get it at a store around Baton Rouge or do you order it online?

Carroll Shelby chilli kit is all I use and add to it.

I have tried most of the chili mixes (not talking about McCormack and the like), but all of the "Name" mixes are very good. Tabasco, Fowler, 2 Alarm, Cajun Power, 6 Gun and the rest. They're all good.
I've never tried Got Blaze's Chili mix, but all the other mixes of his are first rate. I've had Fajita seasoning and others that were all great.

This makes a fine, mild chili with room to play.

When you’re all about that Big D, you’re all about that Big D

I agree the Wick Fowler’s 2 Alarm is good stuff. They have each individual spice separate where you can tweak it. One thing I’ve noticed is their chili powder is a lot redder in color than other brands. I really like the Carroll Shelby’s too but to me it’s not quite as strong with the punch you in the face strength of the 2 Alarm. Carroll Shelby’s is all mixed together in one packet with masa on the side as the thickener. They both won the Texas State Chili Contest many many years ago yet their packages that are still sold to the public are both solid. I love this time of year which I call chili and gumbo weather.

I like Cajun Power better than Wick Fowler's 2 Alarm and Tabasco.
I'm also a big fan of Cajun Power's salsa picante and shrimp creole. Albertsons stocks them both along with the chili and several other jars I haven't tried yet.

This mix is a solid base as you noted. I add trinity and when available from the garden, a variety of peppers. Use a mix of ground pork and good ground beef or venison. I like the meat a little chewy, course ground and/or either small slivers of roast.
