The Time I went To Peche in New Orleans and the baked drum was in. A tomato sauce and it was insane.

my husband doesn't like seafood but took a bite of it and still tells people how good it was.
A crab cake at some restaurant on the water in Virginia Beach. IIRC it was attached to a hotel.

A lamb shank at a place in San Francisco. Top of the market or something like that?

Chicken fried steak at a burger place in Arkansas with a chef from Texas.

The pesto the chef from Italy makes at Randazzos in Denham Springs.

Beef stroganoff at a russian restaurant in San Diego.

I’ve had some excellent fine dining experiences but if I could travel in time for one meal it probably would be Panchos in the early 90s for one of my family’s huge birthday parties there.

Nostalgia is a hell of a thing

This place has got to be close to Goodson's Cafe in Tomball, huh? (Close to 249 and 2920 intersection)

I wouldnt say these are my favorite meals because that's more about the people and the atmosphere. This is my favorite food I've had at a restaurant.

1 - Lasagna at Pinettas in BR
2 - Brisket tacos at Valentinas in Austin, TX
3 - The Franklin at Denver Biscuit Company in Denver
4 - The Addie (adding the bombay chicken into the broth) from Chow Yum Phat in BR
5 - French Dip at New World Deli in Austin, TX

Tough question, but 3 are standouts:
1. Le cirque, NYC. Roasted sturgeon with a pasta.
2. Cantinho do Aziz, Lisbon. Small place tucked on the side of a hill with picnic benches and community tables. Dish called Makoufe which was a Morrocan seafood dish. Fed 4 people for under 20 euros.
3. Puratasca, Seville. Invetive take on tapas, and an amazing (and inexpensive) wine list. Been several tumes, including this past Tuesday.

I once had the best hamburger steak ever at a small hole in the wall truckstop in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma. I wish I could remember the small town but it was about an hour east of Oklahoma City on I40. Sorry

Had a similar experience with a whole fried snapper at a roadside shack in Exuma Bahamas.
