Jam is thicker and made from crushed fruit. Jelly is smoother and sweeter and made from fruit juice.
My grandparents ate "preserves" which seemed to be the chunky version of jam.
I love old fashioned southern preserves. Fig, peach, blueberry. . . Not a huge fan of smooth jellies.
The preserves are usually just the whole fruits soaked under a little sugar and heated with a small amount of pectin.
The only jelly I like is hot pepper jelly and enjoy that more like a jam with bigger chunks of red bell peppers.

That is so true. Syrup does have its place when I am in a rush. Blackberry is when I have time to make breakfast a meal

Yeah but if he posted it on there it'd be 5 pages of people arguing over the PH of the fruit or some shite. Then that mobilejosh fig would have an autistic meltdown because the OP doesn't list his favorite at the top.

You need to put apple pretty high up.
It's very underrated.

Your rankings suck. Grape and strawberry are top tier and I want to fight you.

Let me share a favorite combo of mine.
Make these (they're great no matter what you do with them):
As soon as they come out of the oven, take them out of the skillet, split a couple open, and slather on some blackberry jelly/jam. Sweet and salty greatness!
ETA: My favorite goes: Plum, Blackberry, Prickly Pear, and Peach

I don't think you're ready for this jelly.
