Tri-tip, elk burgers, and hot dogs/chili dogs, with creamed spinach, corn on the cob, potato chips, and potato salad. Homemade ice cream for dessert.

What are you guys and gals cooking this weekend?

I asked my dude what he wanted and he said Bratwurst and chips with french onion dip, so that's what we're having

We'll cook the brats in beer, have caramalized onions, peppers, mushrooms for topping. Plenty of mustard and sauerkraut for topping as well.

Bought the party-size bag of Ruffles. We're ready.

You’re dialed in. That sounds great. I’d eat all of that.

Baby back ribs on the smoker, homemade green onion sausage on the grill along with vegetables from my garden---yard long beans, okra, eggplant and zucchini.

For dessert, homemade peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and an assortment of beer, sodas and juice to wash it all down.

Figs here have been coming in for the past week but with all the damn rain we've been getting daily, they are splitting open prior to ripening. If it isn't the damn birds ruining them, it's too much water busting them open.

Couldn't buy or beg for rainfall 2 weeks ago and now it's pouring daily. I pick my okra for the past 4 days damn near mid calf deep in mud when walking between my rows.

Started smoking my first brisket at 6:00 today for a get together tomorrow.
I usually smoke pork butt and chicken but wanted to venture out this time.

Went basic on the rub, Meat Church Holy Cow and Holy Gospel(60/40).

My 12yr old son and I just put on a 14 lb brisket. I let him trim it and season it . We got the smoker going about an hour ago and will watch it through the night. Thinking it should be ready around 2 tomorrow afternoon.
We will have homemade sweet potato fries, corn on the cob and something cool to drink.
