Sorry my personal preference isn't the same as yours.
That 2nd time I had it, everything tasted very stale and opposite of fresh. Especially the fries, I remember that being like cardboard almost.
I don't eat fast food unless I have no other option now, but it was between In and Out and McDonalds I'm going to McDonalds.

Really over rated IMO but that's just me.

Only good thing about IN and Out is that it is cheap as hell. The fries are frickING AWFUL. Worst fast food fries in the country. Shake Shack has the best burger of any of them. Just go there. Make sure to get the double though as a single is pretty damn small. Whataburger is good too. Better fries and other options. But the burger can't match shake shack.
Overall if you are really hyped about In and Out you'll be very disappointed as I was. Some people lie to themselves and say it's great but it's not. Also if you go to shake shack get a shake or custard it's so good.

I've been to them in Cali several times and in Vegas a bunch. They are good fast food burgers. Are they the best burger out there, no way.
What I find if you look at a Big Mac in a commercial, it looks great. When you actually order a Big Mac at Mcd's it looks nothing like they advertise. Same with most other FF. With In n Out, the burger you get looks like they advertise it. The ones I had in California, it was like you were in a local Chik Fil A. They were happy you stopped by, were quick at getting the order filled, and said thanks.Fries were cut fresh. Not the same at McD, BK, Wendys. If you were eating on the way home, they "half-wrapped" the burger and had a place in the tray to dip your fries in. Well operated FF.
But I get that some will downvote, and it's overrated. To each his own. I thought for fast food, it was good.

Last time I went the guy at the register gave you an athlete with your ticket number
"your order number is PRIMETIME Deion Sanders, number 21. Have a great day"
For that reason alone I will continue to go back.

In & Out fries are awful.
Decent burger, but not memorable. When I'm on a fast food run, I don't even remember that there's an I&O about 5 minutes from the house. They're just not on my radar.

This Board is VERY anti-In-n-Out. VERY.
It is true. In-n-Out is a very christian conservative company yet they love to bash it, that is the odd part to me

Ok be honest
I like In and Out.
It’s a good burger.
Is it a life changing event? No.
But is it good? Yea

Because they cannot handle the fact that In and Out shits all over their precious Whataburger (most overrated burger joint on the planet).

Is this just a Whataburger type place
I wouldn't wait in the line for it but if you want to say you had it then go ahead. In n outs in California, southern California specifically, are better than others way out here IMO

I had In N Out when stationed in California and couldn’t understand the big deal. To me, they are overrated. They would not be my first choice.

we've definitely reached the point where the in-n-out hate has matched the in-n-out hype in their levels of hysteria. horseshoe theory stuff.
it is neither garbage nor gods gift to hamburgers, but it is an extremely good value and gives you consistent, clean, quick, polite service which you cannot say for the whataburgers/mcdonalds of the world, and you cant compare it to chick fil a which is pretty expensive by comparison.
Whether its bucees, yuengling, wawa, in n out, whataburger, culvers, detroit style deep dish, or any number of other regional food fads, not buying into the hype or the hate is key to enjoying it. just evaluate each one on an individual basis and enjoy yourself.

Doesn’t matter what anyone says on here. You want to try it, so try it since you never had it before. Personally, I like In and out very much. Also, Shake Shack and Atomic Burger are very good.

In and Out, Whataburger > Shake Shack > Smashburger
that's honestly all there is to it, I think 99% can agree on that.
