I got in and out kinda drunk in California. I remember specifically being underwhelmed after all the hype. That’s bad when you’re drunk and you still don’t really think it’s all it’s cracked up to be.

It's another overrated burger joint that is decent, but it is far better than anything Whataburger makes.

whataburger which is only a mild step up from most fast foods.

This is bullshite. Five guys is a very mild step up from most fast foods. Whataburger is average fast food. In-N-out is just terrible from the 3 times ive been there.

You can't judge emotion based on text. I didn't even use exclamation points.

In n outs in California, southern California specifically, are better than others way out here IMO

This is the truth, though they are decent in AZ. It's kinda like how Whataburger is good in in the Texas area but completely sucks arse most other places in my experience.

But as you said, In & Out is just a solid burger for cheap. Get grilled onions rather than regular onions to make it better as well.

The fries suck though, I'd suggest getting the fries lightly cooked to make them more edible, as they are cardboard when cooked normally.

I don’t get the hype and have concluded that it must just be a regional thing for folks out west. I’d compare it to the South’s infatuation with Chick-Fil-A, except that this is a valid infatuation, whereas In and Out is just a mediocre experience to me. I frankly prefer McDonald’s.

Chickfila is just chicken. It's fine, I like it, but you're describing it as life changing would overrate it. Just like the people that say in n out is the greatest thing of all time or that it sucks

In and Out

I was so excited to try this while in San Diego. I waited in a long arse line and was glad to do it. Certainly not a bad fast food burger, but not even among the best in the realm. I thought it was a worse version of a Sonic burger.

like you i hardly ever eat fast food. Couple of years ago I was in dallas and was really looking forward to In & Out and seeing what the hype was about.

I got it first night there and thought wtf is the hype about, i thought it was horrible. But i figured the hype was there for a reason adn I wanted to like it...so went to another 3 days later and then another the next week...

All three sucked. I really wanted to like it, but just thought it was awful.

Personally I would prefer a McDonalds double quarter with bacon over it. Jmo

prefer whataburger and wendys triple over it too. Steak shack also. Hell even a double whopper is close imo. Hardees is way way better imo.

I dunno, i just didnt think it was very good at all and I tried 3 different ones in the Dallas area. I assumed that it was because i was eating at one not in cali. Nothing tasted fresh to me, fries were dog shite and the burger was not quality imo.

didnt bother me cause i dont like fast food anyways. Figured cause I dont eat it very often I just preferred a little fattier burger or something.
