How much do you think the most profitable boudin shops in LA make?

Just curious. Many of them look like shacks, but those ol' baws have gotta be making a killing, right?

Billy's made over a million dollars a year with only one shop in Opelousas. Since he has opened multiple locations I'm betting he is making over 5mil a year easy.

Maybe a million in sales but pretty sure he didn’t make a million.

you're never been to Billy's in Scott

I've been in there where they made $5K in sales in an hour

I live in Scott and have been to Billy’s 2-3Xs tops. It’s always too packed to make me want to stop.

On a Saturday, they can do about 5K in sales in an hour easily.

I do know when I head up toward Marksville and hit Juneau's on LA-1 across from the Paragon Casino I will spend on average around $350 just for boudin, and they get me fixed up pretty fast.

That place is a gold mine since they handle a lot of products besides boudin, but boudin, cracklin' and hog's head cheese are probably their best sellers.

The hog reigns supreme in that part of the world for sure.

Considering they aren’t big on paying employees I’m guessing quite a bit. This would fit in the Right To Work thread on the OT as well.

Jerry Lee Duplantis has a real nice place in Greenwell Springs not too far from his store.. Looks like boudin has made him some $$$ over the years for sure

Billy's is open roughly 4,500 hours a year. For them to sell $1,000,000 in product they would have to average $220 an hour in sales.

Think about it. Billy's in Scott NEVER is open without a line. They are selling product almost every minute they are open. Their building is a prefab steel building. Cheap as hell. Their product? Rice, some pork, some seasonings, and casing. Cheap as hell.

And that's just one of their locations. They're making millions.

ETA: Also, almost forgot that they're making so much that they're building a larger brand new place to replace their existing operation in Krotz Springs to handle their business.

For reference:

quote:

the average Chick-fil-A unit made around $4,090,900 in 2017. By contrast, the total sales for a McDonald’s ($2,670,320 per unit), Starbucks ($945,270) and Subway ($416,860) is $4,032,450.

I bet billy's in Scott does 4-6 million/year in sales, probably more.

I guess that explains how they could afford to build that temple in Krotz Springs
