I heard toof puts lots of mayo on his, since it's his favorite condiment.
growing up, everything i ever had in bread/meat form was mayo and cheese. sandwich, hotdog, hamburger, subway, etc. I now still do mayo with veggies, but i didn't till my 20s
i got one from Whataburger recently and it's still my favorite.
meet me at sonic. where i'll be having a mayo and cheese hotdog/hamburger.
but chicago style is my go to if i'm out in uncivilized society where they don't have mayo.

A grilled all beef frank, or better yet, a grilled Hofmann German frank, with mustard, chili, cheese and onions.

Several versions although a good one is hard to find in BR.
Steamed bun, yellow mustard, chopped onions, good dog.
2-add chili and cheese
3-add relish
4-Chicago dawg with the whole salad
5-The occasion version one add mayonnaise.
A memorable hot dog was halfway into a ballpark mustard and onion dog Tommy Hodson hit Eddie Fuller in the back of the endzone just in front of me to tie the Auburn game in 1988-the earthquake game that I didn’t participate in. I didn’t even stand up until that dog was gone. No way I was spilling yellow mustard on my Members Only jacket.

Just wanted to chime in and say that anyone who thinks it’s okay to boil a hotdog has no business judging people who put ketchup on theirs.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Slaw and mustard for me. Occasionally I'll go mustard ketchup relish.
Grilling stuff is always better, but with hot dogs boiled is fine by me. Its a hot dog. Let's not act like it's kielbasa, goetta, bratwurst or the like. Grilling always when guests are involved. For just me, weather dictates. Any excuse to fire up the grill and drink beer and listen to a game is good enough for me, but boiling is convenient and quick.

I like mine on the Food & Drink board with nothing but cheese, mustard and pickles

Mayonaise spread on the bun, ketchup, cheese, and onions on top
Also a huge fan of chili, cheese, and onions.

Three ways
One, just mustard
Two, mustard, sweet relish, onions
Three, chili cheese with onion
Dogs must be grilled

I like them all sorts of ways:
Chicago dogs
With cheese, mustard, and ketchup
With chili and cheese and mustard
I made a Pati Jinich Mexican Dreamboat hotdog recips recently and they were excellent. For that, you saute diced onion, tomato, and pickled jalapeno, then add ketchup and mustard and simmer that for a few minutes. You then pile that onto a bacon-wrapped hotdog.

I like hot dogs a lot of ways. Mostly simple ones. Gotta be grilled.
Chili and cheese.
Ketchup and mustard.
Or just mustard.
If I could only have one topping for a hot dog, it would be yellow mustard.
Buttered and toasted bun, grilled dog with a line of yellow mustard is delicious.

First off, Nathan’s or Hebrew National. If those aren’t available I’ll eat a hot dog another day. Grilled. Raw, minced onion. Mustard. Canned Hormel chili (no beans), with shredded sharp cheddar if I want a chili dog.

I like hotdogs as it is...those were pretty legit. Need either more fat or less smoking to get the texture where I want it. Or maybe I need to add some lips and assholes
First and foremost. Mayo. They have to have mayo. If no chili it has ketchup. Maybe relish and if relish then yellow mustard. If chili then I’ll add cheddar and yellow mustard. That is unless I make it into a Big Mac LOL.
