I was pretty much exactly like you are now about 5 years ago. I now pretty much only crave IPA's. Just wait until summer roles around and it's time to light the pit. You will seriously want some IPA's. Or not, maybe im just a weird frick

I'm a big fan of Saisons and Farmhouse Ales, but I tend to mix it up quite a bit.

Coopersmith in Colorado always had a Serrano chili beer I liked. It was pretty spicy.

Sours are definitely a love it or hate it style. If you do not like Duchesse then you can stop there. You just don't like them.
I've tried probably 8 or so of them. Duchesse is the best. Petrus Red is damned good as well. The one with cherries on the label.

Most sour fans including me would completely disagree with you.
That being said, Duchess was one of the first few sours I enjoyed.
Now it is too sweet and vinegary for my tastes.

well...the favorites are going to be kinda hard to come by
but since you are in Katy, try to find some of the Jester King sours (although most of the good ones are only available at the brewery now) but an easily obtainable sour that is great is New Belgium La Folie.
The Petrus Red is one of the worst sours out there. Just horrible. Tastes like cough syrup.

Goose island has a few that are pretty easy to find. I think Juliet is one of their good ones and Jester King for sure as Salmon Said. Maybe even some Prarie stuff.

This exactly. The first time I had Duchess, I liked it. I had it again a few months later, after being on quite the sour trek, and was not a fan. I felt like it was sticking to my throat.
To be fair, I'm not into the heavier brown sours. I like high carbonation, lighter wild funky types.
