I said this to someone last week, but here's a head's up that you can get all of the sides, salads, and soups in half portion sizes. The sides are quite large, so if more than 1 or 2 catches your eye, you may want to consider half portions.

I got the half portion of the shoestring fries a while back, and it was a full "cone" of them. The same cone they use for the full potion. I don't know that there is really any difference other than price.

I wouldn't judge food by a shitty cell phone pic. I've had Ruth's plenty of times over the years and never seen anything served that looks like that in person.

As promised, my review w/ pics.

Had reservations for 630 and was seated promptly. Was surprised to see how crowded they were for a Monday. Overheard a lot of "happy birthday's/anniversary's". I started with an old fashioned and the lady a gin and tonic. Both were made well and in nice-sized glasses. Our waiter, Peter, was very helpful and explained the menu well. Refilled our bread basket twice.

Onto the main courses, I had the 16 oz. ribeye and the wife the 8 oz. filet. Both cooked to our liking (med. rare/med. well). My ribeye melted in my mouth. Sides were au gratin potatoes and creamed spinach. Both were great, but the steak was the star.

All in all it was a great night and I hope to be back soon. I'm normally not a steakhouse guy since I can make a decent steak at home...but there's no denying Ruth's is a quality place.

Med. rare. To be fair, that last pic was about 15 mins into it being on that hot plate. While the 500 degree plate is nice and kept the steak hot, I think it continued to cook it as it sat.

Bill with two steaks, two sides, and two cocktails came to about $145 before tip. I had a $100 GC so it lessened the blow some.

It is, about the most uninspiring table of food I could imagine for that price. I could walk from my house, in BFE Mississippi, and get a higher quality, more thoughtful meal than that.

Yeah, but you wouldn't be at Ruth's.

That is, after all, what you are paying for. Which is not to suggest that the food is bad, it's just a reality that the food is only a small part of the price.
