Wife and I are celebrating our one year anniversary at Ruth's tonight (coupled with a $100 GC).

Neither of us had been before, I generally don't go to steakhouses because I feel like I can do a decent job with high quality meat at home. I am looking forward to it though.

Which cuts are the best? Sides? Overall experience?

Cowboy ribeye

The sides are all pretty solid, but the creamed spinach is good & I'm not even a huge spinach fan.

Congrats by the way

I just went to Ruth's this past weekend for my anniversary as well. My favorites from the few times I've been:

Carpaccio app
Chop salad
Pittsburgh rare ribeye or cowboy ribeye
creamed spinach side
mushrooms side
bottle of red wine (SO and I got a good bottle of pinot noir this past weekend)

Cowboy ribeye looks like a popular choice.

Worth doing the 3-course menus? Or just order a la carte?

You really can't go wrong with a filet. My favorite cut.

I am Ribeye man thru and thru but I still get the filet or bone in filet at Chris's.

I am always disappointed in my ribeyes when I order them there. I cook a better Ribeye at home reverse sear.

There ribeyes are pretty meh. Get the filet. If you have a great piece of meat and the skills to do so cooking a steak that tastes better than Ruth's Chris is not hard.

Would y'all recommend the 3-course deals? Or just go straight for the a la carte?

I'd go a la carte for the first time.
