Copelands is still around? Damn! Ever since the one closed in Lafayette, I'd forgotten they existed.

Still got one in Shreveport. We go a couple times a year…food is still good. We also hit up the Ralph & Kacoo’s in Bossier occasionally.

Many of the recipes in that cookbook are different than the ones that were used in the restaurants.
Yeah, I'm aware. But the one I posted said it was from Ralph. Who knows if he gave the right one.

Yep…I was born and raised in Baton Rouge and grew up eating there in the 70’s-80’s. Was pleasantly surprised they had one when we moved here in ‘97. Food has always been excellent the three decades I’ve been here.

Only have 3 left…Bossier, Lufkin and Mobile.

Original Roy Rogers before the deli beef showed up. As a kid I got to meet Roy and got an autographed picture! I watched that show every morning as a kid on channel that showed all the old b/w TV shows.

When I was in 5th grade it was the year they were choosing a teacher to go to space. My teacher was one of the finalists and Roy Rogers held a contest to design a placemat that they'd use in their restaurants to support him. Well, my design won so my "spacemat" was used in all the Roy Rogers locations. Obiviously, my teacher finished as a runner-up. Christa McAuliffe won and we all know what happened.

I actually went to a Roy Rogers location a few years ago in Maryland with my daughter and it was just as great as I remembered, no deli beef. Even had the fixins bar.

Not a food, but Scotch.

I loved Scotch, neat, for years. My favorite drink. My roommate bought me a bottle for my birthday one year. I drank entirely too much of it in one sitting. I can no longer stomach it, decades later.
