I’ve only had the chance to go a couple times, but the first place I thought of when I saw this thread was Elsie’s.

I know it’s closed but I would love to have some tamales from Muffalatto's one more time.

I only get there once a year these days. I will always hit Chimes and Coffee Call.

I really want to like Elsie's; I really do. But I've been there 3 times, and every time has been mediocre.

I have enjoyed the flavor of everything I've had and I think it is such a creative concept, but I do find that you have to order carefully to get something that isn't too rich to eat more than a few bites of.

Because of that, it isn't in our rotation. But I definitely see the appeal and think they do a good job at what they do.

Your choices are fine, however I take issue with you insinuating the atmosphere at Mansur’s is good. Sitting in the bar is great, sitting in the back is like sitting in a funeral home. If we can’t sit in the bar, we don’t go.

DiGiulio’s is my favorite lunch place, no doubt.

I know it’s a chain, but when I’m in town with the wife I make it a point to eat at J Alexander’s.

We finally made our way to Eliza Monday night. Regretted not getting the rabbit ragu. Filet was barely warm to the touch, it was ok. Wife got the pork chop which she liked, but the menu said sweet potato hash. I was assuming a Carolina style hash, but it was just tiny pieces of sweet potatoes pan fried. We may give it another shot but in no way did we fine away with the impression that it upheld its reputation even among my friends who told me to go.

I’ve found that too with Eliza. I very much want to like it and I’ve tried multiple things on the menu and nothing has been as good as my friends have claimed.

That being said, I’m a big fan of Anthony’s. Their meatball po boy is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had, they’re affordable, and they’re nice people

I've had a similar issue with Eliza the two times I've went. Maybe I ordered the wrong things.

It was good, but not as good as the reviews on here would have suggested. I'll continue to try though and certainly will get the rabbit ragu next time.

Anyone try Bldg5 yet? Was thinking of going there in a couple weeks, but haven't heard much on it rather than "it's pretty good" and no descriptors after that.
