Got some nice fresh shrimp, ‘bout 31-35 count. I’m looking for something different. Not broiled, or stew/etoufeee/corn soup/gumbo (they’re too big for gumbo anyway), or the usual remoulade, boiled, fried, etc. My two leading front runner ideas right now are 1)Spanish style shrimp and garlic, w/plenty of toasted bread, or 2)a Thai green curry w/shrimp. 3) is paella, simply bc I have some dry chorizo on hand.

What’cha doing w/your shrimp these days?

Shrimp curry is very good and simple with a curry mix or paste.

Also, I enjoy making a good garlic shrimp and tasso Alfredo.

This is pretty typical, so feel free to ignore. But if it piques your interest, the Bon Appetit recipe for Shimp Scampi is ridiculously good.

The key, as they mention in the recipe, is the marinating step.

I made this for friendsgiving where a friend from Israel said she had not liked shrimp so far in the US until this dish.

I would do a good bbq shrimp (mr b bistro recipe is my go to), shrimp and grits, or a scampi recipe like Louisianalady just posted with a lemon pasta or a butter pasta.

I love a good shrimp or crawfish patty and pepper jelly/butter simmered until melted to dip each bite in.

I've posted this here a couple of times without it gaining much traction, but this has become a frequently requested family favorite. I first had this at the Creole Tomato Festival in the French Quarter.

Pasta Rosa (Maximo's)

1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup chopped garlic
1 tsp cayenne pepper
24 medium shrimp -- peeled
8 pieces Sun Dried Tomatoes, softened and julienned
1/3 cup Arugula leaves
1 tsp salt
1 lb Tortellini, precooked
1/2 cup grated Romano cheese

Saute garlic and cayenne in oil quickly. Add shrimp and tomatoes. When shrimp are almost done, add arugula and salt. Cook another minute or so until done. Toss with pasta and cheese.

RE: Pasta Rosa—-I haven’t fully recovered from the sun dried tomato glut of the 80s. Remember when those suckers were everywhere, along with goat cheese?

I hate goat cheese. It really doesn't have much to offer.

Now sun-dried tomatoes? I can't get enough of them. I do
love tomatoes, though.

This is a low carb favorite company worthy dish.

BRAZILIAN SHRIMP STEW (MOQUECA DE CAMAROES)

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 lbs raw shrimp, peeled & deveined
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup roasted red pepper, diced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
14 oz can Rotels
1 cup coconut milk
2 Tbsp Sriracha hot sauce
2 Tbsp fresh lime juice & zest
salt and pepper to taste

Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan. Saute onions for several minutes until translucent, then add the garlic and peppers and cook for several minutes more. Add the tomatoes, shrimp and cilantro to the pan and simmer gently until the shrimp turns opaque. Pour in the coconut milk and Sriracha sauce, and cook just until heated through – do not boil. Add lime juice and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.

That sounds good!

Hungryone, I guess my favorite shrimp dishes are not unique, so I don't really have much to offer. I love larb, though, and I checked and there are recipes for shrimp larb. Definitely unique.
