Considering going here for lunch/brunch when we are in BR. Is it as good as it looks on their website or should we pass and go somewhere else?

Unless you are allergic to a specific ingredient, lean heavily toward the daily special. They nail those every time.

Other suggestion are seafood pot pie or poulet (chicken) pot pie. For sandwiches, Diablo melt is great and the Boudin Burger is amazing.

The crawfish bisque is actually pretty damn good too.

Get a side of red beans no matter what. If you like fried chicken, then get the entree with both.

Best I've had from any restaurant in the city.

Never had a bad meal there. I second the guy who said choose the daily special unless you have a problem with an ingredient.

Only problem with eating there now is that it’s 1,000 degrees outside, so a pot pie or a helping of red beans may not be what you’re wanting in the middle of a work day

Very solid casual spot. I get the boudin sandwich if I don't want to gorge.

If I remember correctly, there are two pimento cheese sandwiches.

The one with the pepper jelly is amazing.

I had the pimento cheese BLT last week. Added roasted red peppers. Was fantastic.

Of course I had the crawfish queso with pork skins. They come out still cracking.

The Lafourche Bisque is good, and the grits are a low-key excellent side. I agree with what's been said already about the meat pies, I'd take a pass on them in favor of the better menu items.

The whole pies out of the case are usually good but the mini "dessert pies" off the menu are underwhelming.

Get a tomato pie and a large grits.

Request a small pimento cheese.

Add pimento cheese to grits.

I would advise a triple whiskey neat or mojito to cut through the richness

Agree on the red beans and fried chicken. Outside of the wife’s (No pics) red beans, no one does it better. But you have to have a meat pie too.

Be prepared for a to go box.
