Saw a news story about how it's immoral how much money people spend on their pets when the recession is going on.

I don't care. I feed my 2 dogs the same stuff me and the wife eat.

Their favorites:

1. Hot bread...especially biscuits, buns and muffins.

2. Sweets... especially sugar cookies.

3. Pasta... they like anything with Monjuni Sauce.

4. Carrots.. raw, they can eat a half pound and it's good for their teeth. They also like Cauliflower and Broccoli.

5. Meat... they like the crispy crust from Walmart Fried chicken. Second favorite is trimmed fat off grilled NY strip steak. They also get the last hamburgers.

Dog Food...Nope, they don't like Dog Food.

We have a 14 yr old lab that recently stopped eating and lost 15 lbs. Vet suggested boiled chicken & rice and she loved it. She won't eat wet or dry dog food now so we have been cooking the chicken & rice for her.

Our girl was 16 when she passed away. When she was younger she could put away 8 hamburgers without chewing. In her later years we went with chicken with rice and gravy.

She looked just like this dog:

Looks like ours in her youth. Now she has a nice gray beard.

Specifically? No. I'll share some leftovers with the hound though.

Oooh, that reminds me. My dogs love eggs. Hard boiled or scrambled.
The one food I have always recommended for dog owners is raw carrots. All dogs love carrots and it cleans their teeth. Peel the skin and chop into bite size pieces. Carrots are cheap.

All leftovers go to the dogs. I laugh when I see people who freak out about dogs eating table food. Mine always have, and I've always had awesome dogs.

all dogs like dog food until you start feeding them table food. You sound like my mom. They wont even eat unless its people food straight from her hand.

I have a 15 year old rat terrier and a 10 year old lab. Both have eaten table scraps most of their lives. The lab still hunts 15 days a season.

Otis, before I met my wife and she banned cheese I used to play a game with my lab and cheese balls..or as Cartman says 'cheesy puffs'.

I could throw them at a rate of 2 per second and that dog would catch everyone one even adjusting for wind conditions.

Nope. Any vet will tell you that people food is much healthier than dog food.
BTW, I've had lots of dogs. The one who died at the youngest age was 14. Oldest was 17. But perhaps you have a better record with pets. Tell us about it.
