Mine are like family, but they still aren't people. They eat dog food and sleep outside (regardless of weather) and lick each other's butts and eat cow shite and dig holes and kill stuff and they absolutely love their life.

This has nothing to do with Peta. I don't think a dog should sleep outside if it is below 20 degrees (hard freeze)

They both have nice little dog barrels with hay and they do fine. Dogs are much tougher than people. Mine have been inside and they hate it. They much prefer being outside.

Well for the rare occasion that it ever gets that cold in BR...I would agree, except I have this dumb mutt that has a sweet setup outside and she won't willingly come in no matter how cold it gets.

Either she is just fine or too dumb to come in and well...survival of the fittest.

My dogs sleep outside under any circumstance and get to devour leftovers. I guess that's why they're so badass.

I do let mine sleep inside at the camp when it's cold because I don't have anything set up for them over there. I don't try to torture em or anything. They're fat and have free reign and haven't ever ran away. I was just taught my whole life that dogs are not people, and should not be treated as people.

There is no better pet and they treat their owners like gold and they are loyal. I consider mine to be a big part of my life.

It's sort of amazing this is even up for debate.

That's fine with me. To each his own. Hell my dog is a much better friend than any person, BUT, he's still a dog

I was brought up around working dogs. Hunting dogs and herding dogs and such. Much different thinking than people who were brought up around pets.
