I'm talking about those that think Dominos, Pizza Hut, Little Caesars and the like is good pizza.

Those that have never tasted a thin crispy yet delicate crust with perfectly charred edges, San Marzano tomatoes, evoo, fresh basil, cooked in a wood fired brick oven. Instead they gop down heaping piles of soggy tasteless cardboard like dough sopped up with spicy, choking, ketchup like sauce.

Yep, I'm a pizza snob and unapologetically so.

Domino's in the late 70's was pretty great pizza. Now, not so much. Changed the crust, changed the sauce, and sprinkle some salty seasoning on it hoping that covers for the lack of flavor.

Papa John's, even today has a pretty decent crust. Not like wood fired, but solid for delivery pizza.

I love the Pizza Hut thin crust, but the sauce and the rest is inadequate.

I like Totino's Party Pizza cut in half and folded over itself like a pizza/taco type thing. Dipped in ranch dressing.

No but I do feel sorry for those that frequently visit the chocolate fountain. Basically, people who associate quality with quantity.

I agree man, but don't fault them for being obtuse. We were lucky to have Johnny's growing up so I've always known how pizza could be when done right. Some people didn't have that luxury and had to grow up eating shite like BJ's. They are just a product of their environment.

No, everyone has their own opinion. If it tastes good to them I am happy for them.

I feel sorry for people that never got to taste the best delivered to your door pizza ever. Moe's New York style pizza in Biloxi, MS.
I was there for tech school in the mid 80's I still think about it to this day.

Better than Brooklyn's in Gport? Brooklyn's is my favorite cheese or cheese/pepperoni, they have a pretty damn good Italian sub too

Me too. I'm amazed at the people that prefer the chewy, doughy crust concoctions with the processed gooey cheese loading the top. My wife is one of them.

I was thinking of this when this thread popped up:

1981 Stouffers French Bread Pizza Commercial

You use to flip the box inside out to use the faux metal to crisp it up in the microwave.

I feel sorry for people who don't have options. I get it if you want a cheap pizza delivered to your door. Big pizza chains aren't about quality, they're about being fast and efficient and inexpensive. There's a little mom 'n' pop shop about a block away from me that, if given the choice, everyone would rather eat than Pizza Hut or Papa John's or Dominos, etc. But it costs more and they don't deliver. And they're not even the best pizza in town.

I'm not sure I can count how many privately owned family business pizza shops I have to choose from. More than a dozen. Maybe two dozen? And that's just in the quarter of the city that I frequent. I feel sorry for the people who don't have that. I come from a small town and folks back home don't have those options. It's Pizza Hut or Papa John's. That's it. They don't even know what they're missing and I think that's sad.
