With all those tomatoes, New Orleans and North Louisiana yankees should love it.

Clay Higgins at the end is priceless.

I don't know what I've seen less of in North LA, Yankees or tomato gumbo. Good effort though t-bob.

Not sure what the obsession is with forcing shitty ingredients like Kale and Quinoa into things and pretending that it's healthy.
I might eat that but obviously not gumbo by any stretch

It might be an interesting soup, but it ain't gumbo.
Aside from all the bullshite ingredients, why does anyone purposely leave that little shell on the tail in a dish that is eaten with a spoon (or even a fork)? Pet peeve of mine. Shell that whole damn shrimp!

I notice that in lots of dishes in restaurants which are not eaten with the hands. I know they think it's aesthetically pleasing, but it's a PITA and I don't like it.
As far the concoction put together in that video, I don't know what it is, but I got a little teary eyed when the pretty shrimp were added to it.

Nah man, I saw chili powder, it's clearly some sort of kale & quinoa seafood chili.

Certainly a good place to start

Really doesn't look too terrible outside of the overly cooked shrimp. It's not really a gumbo, but IWEI. I might sub spinach or collard greens for the kale and lentils for the quinoa, but that's personal.

Spaghetti is a type of noodle.
Gumbo is a soup/stew with okra. Or when okra was not available, filé powder.
gumbo wiki
quote:
Gumbo is a stew that originated in southern Louisiana during the 18th century. It consists primarily of a strongly-flavored stock, meat or shellfish, a thickener, and the Cajun holy trinity of vegetables, namely celery, bell peppers, andonions. Gumbo is often categorized by the type of thickener used, the vegetable okra, the Choctaw spice filé powder (dried and ground sassafrasleaves), or roux, the French base made of flour and fat. The dish likely derived its name from either a word from a Bantu language for okra (ki ngombo) or the Choctaw word for filé (kombo).
