first thing i thought of when i saw the thread title...his is the best food blog i've ever seen, honestly. a tourist could do a hell of a lot worse than just eating/drinking where he eats (just not as often!)

with cool weather up stairs at the Tableau in nice.

801 on Royal

My all time favorite is the grape vine. They have a happy hour with $5/glass or $18/ bottle for house wine. all food is great even the crabs cakes.

Old Absinthe House belongs in the rotation

frick the Old Absinthe House. Used to be great but not worth it after they duoubed the prices. Shitty owner/manager in recent years. I'd go to frickng Pat O's before the A House.

The back bar at Pat O's - the drinks are cheap, it's not usually that touristy for day drinking, and the old man bar tending has been there for 30+ years.

When was absithe house anything but a ripoff? Seems like the place has made its nut relying on huge expense account tabs 2-3 days out of the year for as long as I can remember.

It's awful.

nothing wrong with starting with a bloody or frozen irish coffee at erin rose, bar seat at the carousel, side track to touche', maybe Pat O's if weekend game time, then on to Lafitte's...may even sidetrack to felix's for a quick dozen or so

Think I'm gonna start with a frozen Irish coffee at Molly's at the Market, then take a stroll and check out some scenery. Stop for lunch at Napoleon house and have a muffaletta and then hit up lafittes. Cosimos, MRB, and pat o's might make it on depending on how much time I have

Reading this thread is making it extremely difficult to show any interest in working the next 18hrs....
Day drinking in the Quarter can be a sublime experience.
