Last month BK corporate announced they were closing hundreds of restaurants that were underperforming. In Lafayette, they closed one on Evangeline Thwy and surprisingly one across from ULL campus (Johnson St) that has a ton of foot traffic and been there for years.

They also closed the one on the corner of Jefferson and Lobdell by the old baskin Robbins. That one’s been there forever

There really is zero reason to ever go to a Burger King in the year 2024

I don't know why but BK's in south Louisiana are terrible; and have been for years. Their quality control is subpar at best. If you go to a BK in another part of the country it's surprising how good it is...

The whopper is good. Double cheeseburger is good too.

What a depressing collection of thoughts in the post: BK, Siegen Lane, shuttered fast food joint of course Baton Rouge.

Yet ... the power of TD compelled me to see.

take a good look at what they hire. I went to the Siegen BK 4-5 yrs ago and the cashier was sitting on the counter, I thought she was on break, well the manager said aren't you going to take his order and then she asked for my order...after a few minutes. I went to Wendy's on Essen last year and the greeting in the drive thru I got was "what you want".

FF places were great back in the 80's...when they were staffed by teenagers. With adults staffing them they suck.

Do they still have onion rings?

The BK on Sherwood and N. Harrell’s Ferry has been there since at least 1990. Maybe even earlier than that.

Are you serious?

Compared to their competition- McD and Wendy’s, BK is by far the best. And it’s never been close.

BK years ago used to be pretty good. Now the couple that remain open in my area (Charleston) are filthy, have crappy employees, and the food sucks.

Seems like the franchise owner(s) would take steps to fix them, they’ve steadily been going out of business around here.

The one on Essen is surprisingly good. They apparently got a new manager and it went from the worst in the city to the best. They are also open 24 hours now.

This one needed to be closed, and probably should have been after the murder a few years back.

Lots of foot traffic in the area, but also better options.

Is the BK on Sherwood near Waffle House still open? I hardly see any cars there.

BK was my favorite fast food burger in the 80s growing up. Granted, we didn't have nearly as many options. Now most of them are run like Popeyes and the food is extremely hit or miss.

Been there since the late 70’s. I worked across the street at McD and at the time the Whopper was better than anything we cooked. Today it’s a different story.
