In Metairie on Vets there were 3 BK's within a 3 minute drive. Now just the one at Oaklawn. The last time I went I had a 2 for 1 Whopper and took a friend. It was the worst Whopper I have ever had... That was about 7 years ago...

BK was my favorite fast food burger in the 80s growing up. Granted, we didn't have nearly as many options. Now most of them are run like Popeyes and the food is extremely hit or miss.

If you can get one in the Midwest where they are properly managed is still arguably the best. There is a certain mindset of today's workers that drive down the quality in urban areas. If you are gonna survive you have to stay on top of the workers. What I've seen at BK is that the managers weren't any better than the employees and the food suffered.

The one on Pinhook across from Wal-Mart will probably close too.

A good Burger King in a nice upscale area like the Chicago burbs or NW Arkansas is amazing. Quality for price cannot be beat anywhere, a 7 dollar whopper meal compared to like double that at some other comparable places. Competent workers that actually care about their job, it’s amazing. I wouldn’t go near a BK in Memphis or BR.

Is the BK on Sherwood near Waffle House still open? I hardly see any cars there.

Drove by there this afternoon and it was still open. I agree that it's not very busy most of the time either.

Whopper is still a great and viable fast food burger. Maybe not the aura it had 30 years ago but still a solid option for fast food.

Maybe it was COVID related, but flew in to BR for my grandmother's funeral in November 2021. The funeral Mass was at St. Gerard, so went to the BK on Plank, across the street, hoping to grab a crossain'wich. The place was locked up at 9:30 am.

I remember getting breakfast sandwiches, before school, at that location when I was in 1st grade at St. Gerard, circa 1985.

I was assuming this is where the new Smalls Sliders is going, once they tear down that BK.

The BK on Juban Road in Denham is superb!

I compliment them every time I pass through their drive thru.

It's so refreshing to find a BK the way they were meant to be.

What a depressing collection of thoughts in the post: BK, Siegen Lane, shuttered fast food joint of course Baton Rouge. Yet ... the power of TD compelled me to see.
