Tasted both within 15 minutes of each other. Billys wins on both counts for me. Both Cracklin’s were well-made with good texture, but Billy’s were better seasoned.

For the Boudin, Billys simply tasted better. Don’s were spicier, but significantly more greasy.

I like Don’s cracklins a lot, but yeah, Billy’s boudin gets the significant nod.

I feel that way about Best Stop boudin, though it still beats the crap out of boudin West of Bayou Nezpique.

Glad you asked because I had reason to stop at Don's because they carry alligator legs. I picked up a scoop of cracklins as well and were mediocre. There wasn't even a heat lamp and they were stone cold, not to mention the quality wasn't that good. I continued on to Best Stop, got a bag there and didn't even finish the Don's cracklins. This is the second time I was disappointed there.

Both places had out of towners stocking up. A woman I met at Best Stop had relocated to Wisconsin, and another at Don's was filling up coolers returning to Texas.

Maybe I’m easy, cuz I love em both and would be happy to have either.

I’d say Don’s is a 9/10 and Billy’s is a 10/10.

Whoever has the shorter line is the better one to get.

Kartchners is worth the stop too, I honestly avoid Billys because I refuse to wait in their ridiculously long line. Kartchners makes a jalapeno cream cheese and a maple syrup boudin wrap that make me scoff at the Billys pepperjack offerings.

ETA I grew up on Best Stop and I just can't break the habit of liking their boudin more.

Yeah I avoid Billy’s at all costs. It’s not that good to wait 30 minutes.

T-boys in mamou has them all beat. I normally go to the best stop.

I agree with Don's being a tourist hot spot, but to say that about The Best Stop is a ludricous claim.

I’ll take Don’s over Billy’s boudin.
I’ll take Billy’s cracklings over Don’s.

I like Kartchner's smoked boudin more than Billy's, Best Stop & Don's regular boudin.

Ronnie's off Florida.

Don's is what I grew up with so I am partial to it, but IMO both places make great links.

Same. But coming from Lafourche Parish, Legnon's and/or Billeaud's gets my business long before I get to Billy's.

Billeaud's

In Broussard? That’s the best cracklins I’ve had just
About anywhere.

And their chili dogs are fiya around 08:30 with a cup
Of coffee.

Why the knockoffs in BR haven’t latched onto the chilli dog thing is beyond me. Margins have to be stellar on that product.
Bergerons jumped on the chicken cracklins bandwagon, why not chilli dogs?
