That’s never open
What kind of boudin place isn’t open for breakfast?

My biggest complaint. Been wanting to try their boudin when I'm in town, but I do my boudin runs and eating in the mornings. So Earl's, Johnson's and Billeaud's get my business.

Open from 9a to 4p, and closed on Mondays. I agree their hours suck. I buy their boudin 2-3 days per week for my office and usually the first in line at 9am.

When these non sense covid restrictions are ended, won't be anytime soon here in LA, they will go back to regular operation and be open for breakfast again.

What do the covid restrictions have to do with them not opening til 9am and closing at 4 pm?
They haven’t affected the other boudin places that open 3 hours earlier and staying open 4 hours later

Jerry Lee's is average at best.
Fact.
I think Jerry Lee’s absolutely sucks and everyone in my family thinks so too. Parents are from Ville Platte so that’s where our boudin roots lie and Jerry Lee’s isn’t even in the stratosphere. Anywhere in Acadiana beats the shite out of Jerry Lee’s boudin per the Supadave3 clan.

Jerry Lee’s is what a lot of folks in BR grew up eating so that’s why they think it’s good... purely nostalgia

I grew up within 5 miles of that place amd it wasn’t even on our radar of good boudin. We would buy 5 lb boxes of frozen ville Platte boudin and cook it for gatherings or just Sunday snacking.
I’m in Houston now but I almost always have some Acadiana boudin in my freezer. I have some now from Teets. While I agree some previously mentioned is better than others, everyone beat Jerry Lee’s.

I just know that when I first moved to BR everyone told me to go to Jerry Lee’s. I hadn’t eaten a lot of boudin before that so I thought it was pretty good. After several visits west I soon realized that it’s very mediocre. I don’t think it’s as bad as you say but it’s definitely not top-tier.

, I honestly avoid Billys because I refuse to wait in their ridiculously long line.
Yep. frick Billy’s and their inefficient operation. The line is only long bc its 5 goddamn minutes per customer

What Finn said. Drive to Scott. Pick any of the six places there and fill your ice chest.

Efficiency could be better, but it all starts with the customer. You aren’t rushing Sue from Gadsden or Kendrick from Gretna when they get to the counter and start trying to assess the offerings. And let’s not forget most of those purchases are “$2 worth of cracklins...OK, put a more”. “How much is that? Ok, put a little more”.
To your point tho, more staff shepherding the customers thru the buying cycle wouldn’t hurt.

From BR - go over the Ms River on I-10, exit Lobdell Hwy 415 North. Then take hwy 190 West like your going to Opelousas. When you get to Krotz Springs, buy boudin and Cajun meats at Kartchners Grocery ... foot of the Atchafalaya River bridge on left. OBEY THE SPEED LIMIT. Then go across the street and buy boudin and chicken cracklins at Billy’s. Continue on 190W and when you get to Port Barre, go to Bourques (1 mile down on left) and buy boudin and jalapeño sausage cheese bread,
That will get you 3 different brands of boudin. Make sure to get some smoked boudin. Taking 190 will save you 2 hours shopping at the Scott boudin places and at least 3 hours of travel time. . You may wait 2-3 minutes each at the 190 boudin locations. Get right back on I-49 and head to Shreveport —> I-20 west to Dallas

Got Blaze, I was about to post the same thing. Well done
Get some cream cheese jalapeño balls and maple wraps from Kartchner’s, and a slab of bread pudding at Bourque’s
