Anyone been to Luger's in NY?

Does it live up to the hype?

I've been to Bern's , I thought that was the best ever, but Desi Vega's Med. rare strip is the best piece of meat on the planet.

Not technically a steak, but I think the best bite of red meat was Kobe beef at the Bellagio in Vegas right after they opened. It was a raw thin slice nigiri style which was $12 a bite and was absolutely exquisite.

Had Pappas Bros for first time on Saturday. That was up there.

Also, the hanger steak I got at One Fifth was really freaking good.

I consider Peter Luger's not only the best steak (by far) but one of the best overall meals I've ever had.

We had the 3 person Porterhouse

If you put that steak in front of me and told me it was a 3 person porterhouse, I'd be wondering what the other two people were going to eat.

I can destroy a steak.

EDIT: What's that grilled just below the steak fries? Sliced portobellos?
