We stayed at some shithole in Cannes, looks like y'all did it right. I drove all over those coastal roads. Some seriously scary shite in a little underpowered manual. Getting back up on the 'interstate' right before Italy was the absolute worst 15 seconds of the trip.

Street food in Thailand. I'm not kidding.
I also ate at Nahm, which was named the best restaurant in Asia, and I honestly thought the street food was better.
And everything I ate in Montreal was amazing.

But leaving tomorrow for a 2 week trip hitting London, Amsterdam, Munich, Zurich, Florence, and Rome.
That's a lot to cover in 2 weeks. I went to Thailand for 2 weeks and felt like I could've been there for 3 months and still not saw everything I wanted to.

Saisons in Ecully, France. My brother got chosen to spend the summer in France to cook and train at the Paul Bocuse culinary school. Damn place was top notch. There is a castle on the grounds that has a restaurant in it where students learn and make up the wait staff, kitchen staff, front/back house managers, etc. Unreal dining experience with apertifs and cheese selections, all around unreal dining experience. I was jelly of my brother that he got to go to school there and live there for the summer with hot chicks from all over the world.

Head to Il Latini in Florence. Easily the best meal I have had outside of the United States.
Il Latini
A couple friends and I ate there on a recommendation while studying abroad. Food was so good we kept ordering more. We were dreading getting the bill when the owner came and sat down with us. He spoke with us in broken English for awhile about our trips and after asking if we were students charged us $20 apiece for what was likely a $100 dinner.

The food in Bologna, Italy.
Also the food in Turks and Caicos was surprisingly good. I was expecting some regular tourist food, but they put effort in their food.

Ristorante Belforte or Trattoria Da Sandro (both in Vernazza) by any chance?

Was this the place with the bucket to flush the outdoor toilet and the stray dogs that visit while you eat?
Yes, had no electricity either.
But the food came out the water. They also had good margaritas, and proudly showed us the bag of ice said "from purified water".

Neither, unfortunately. Belforte looks outstanding. I honestly don't remember the name. But we ordered some sort of lobster pasta, calimari, and fish in bag. Great meal.
