We Never Close in NO East back in the late 80s, early 90s. Their "BBQ beef" which had their roast beef and some sausage tossed in a sauce was, imo, unbeatable.

Slow Roast Duck @ Crabby Jacks
had a softshell crab po boy at French Quarter Fest that was rolling but I forget which vendor.
Parkway's alligator sausage and hot sausage is tasty
River Fine Foods in Algiers Point has an excellent shrimp

Probably far from the “best”, but my best memory is when gramps would get a shrimp po boy from the spur station on the corner of Judge Perez and Parish Rd. In Chalmette. It was overflowing and could make a second sandwich from the scraps.

Not exactly. Although it'll be close to what Gene's served, they didn't use Patton's. They made their own hot sausage and hamburger patties.

Probably the best was from a place in Houma, now closed, Breaux's. I still can remember the Roast Beef Poboys.
