The GOAT hangover/drunk poboy was at the now closed Avery's on Tulane

Fried Oysters, Bacon, and Roast Beef Gravy. Mother of God.

Not something you could eat on a regular basis, but damn it was something else.

shrimp po boy from the shell on the corner of Judge Perez and Parish Rd. In Chalmette. It was overflowing and could make a second sandwich from the scraps.

I've eaten a few of those.

Arabi foodstore is another spot that brings back memories. My Uncle loved that place.

In the past - Parasol’s roast beef and Mr. Steve’s (Favalora’s) in Arabi had good poboys - Schweggmann’s had great oyster loaves

Recently - r&o’s, Parran’s in metry, parkway in Nola & Jed’s in BR

Johnny’s in Houma used to have good shrimp poboys

It's a "weekly special" that they run occasionally, but they have all the ingredients on hand because they use them for other poboys. You can order it even if it isn't the "weekly special".

Yes, that is an insider tip
