None in my town, closest is Bourgeois, other than that it’s west bound on 90 to Lafayette area.

Have not tried Jameson’s but Boucherie isn’t bad in Nola. Then again there’s not much boudin options in Nola.

Lake Charles:
1. Market Basket Nelson Road - Smoked boudin
2. Homsi's

I live in Gulf Shores AL. Best I can get is Rouses or Richards which are both terrible considering I grew up South of Lafayette and every corner grocery store had boudin by the link in a crock pot on the counter everyday. With that said, every time I visit home I take an ice chest full of boudin and other goodies back home. My main stays are Turtle Sauce Picante from Suires in Cow Island, stuffed chickens from Heberts in Maurice, and Boudin from NuNus or Bourque’s.

I was hoping that the Cajun Cleaver would get some good reviews.
Nah. It sucks. They’ve got some good stuff including some of their precooked meals and sides. And their meat is good. Have also ordered several pigs from them. Nice guys. But the boudin isn’t good.

Traveling from NOLA to Bayou Gauche this weekend by either 90/310/306 or 10/310/306. Anywhere worth a stop for boudin/cracklin?

Not even close
I’m referring to Lafayette only, not Scott or other surrounding areas.

I do not enjoy Guillory’s boudin. It just doesn’t taste right. I’ve never actually tried town and country’s.
ETA: Guillory’s sausage and Tasso is top tier IMO.

Jibbajabba here you go. I was skeptical about the jalapeño and pablano but must say the flavor is on point. I have made this three or four times and haven’t been disappointed.

The Link recipe is on point flavor wise. It will have you adding more liquid and salt than needed. That said it is really good boudin.

Nothing on either route. Taking 310 to 90 west puts you past Boutte, and there is nothing at all worth while. My advice, stay on 90 until you hit Lafayette, then you have some options.

Sausage Link in Sulphur has some damn good boudin balls fwiw. I just love the variety at Market Basket. 6? different types of boudin. All really good. The Jalapeño smoked has been my favorite as of late. I had some yesterday afternoon and put a tiny bit of Last Dab XXX on each piece. SO fricking good. I was sweating for 30 minutes after the last bite.
ETA: Now I'm literally sweating again thinking about it.

So many factors can make or break very good boudin product. In my opinion you have to try a place more than once to know if it's the best. It can change with every batch or link. I've had Johnson's when it was off, Jerry Lee's when it was off, Bourque's when it was off.. And when it's on, the best boudin I've had is at B & S in Ville Platte.

The new Bourque's on Johnston is legit. If we're only talking Lafayette proper. Johnson's aint bad don't get me wrong. Earl's isn't that bad but its too dry for me. Not many choices actually.

The Donald Link recipe I found in this forum is better than anything I can buy in south MS. Hell its even better than what I could buy in Houma. I toned down the salt and put less rice/liquid.
my recipe is based off of that one.. i've made some tweaks to the seasoning and liquid and quantity of rice. i use chicken liver rather than pork too.
