Sad day as BR area loses another brewery. Down to Rally Cap, Cypress Coast, Gilla, Grain Creation and Le Chien now.

Did they give a reason for the closure? Their beer was awesome the few times I was able to get out there.

I was never impressed with their beer. In that list, the only breweries that have ever really impressed me are Gilla and Le Chien.

Le Chien is a cool place but Rally cap has much better beer.

Agile was better than both of those.

What a shocker, these fad “beer” places are shutting down like crazy! Who didn’t see that coming?!?!?

I don’t like IPA’s, and that’s all Rally Cap seems to make. Le Chien’s Spruce Goose is fantastic, and they make a good Hefeveisen.

I'm not going to celebrate someone's business going under. But whenever every ding-dong decides they rather brew beer for a living that doing some other boring job (who wouldn't?), it was only a matter of time before the market (not just in LA) was totally oversaturated.

You obviously haven't been there in a few years.

Agile was fine when first opened, but fell way off. Grain Creation next door makes way better beer.

Sure its an unpopular opinion, but i feel like everything that direction is simply out of the way

I think they improved to better than fine until the brewer left to go to Istrouma. Their beers were on the upswing again . I'll miss their burgers.

Didn't the owner own the homebrew shop in Baton Rouge for years before opening? He wasn't just a homebrewer who decided to brew beer.

I went for lunch every couple of weeks because the $5 tacos and 1/2 burgers were a fantastic value. Will miss this lunch spot when I can get out of the office.

Well, he was a homebrewer before both ventures. He was a programmer/IT by profession. Sorry to see it close. I always questioned the location.

I think the location is fine. Grain Creations is a few doors down and they stay pretty busy.

the homebrew shop closed awhile back

I can't imagine two breweries that close were good for either business

Agile was the best imo, plenty of styles other than just IPAs. Heard the owner was not good at running a business however.

Breweries without a good location or robust distribution are hurting everywhere. Gone are the days when you can run a taproom in the back of a light-industrial park with a few taps around town.

Not sure I agree. I like Gilla quite a bit.
