I mean, at least it wasn’t a 50 piece slideshow....
Btw, it’s Vietnamese food so you don’t have to go scrolling through the long arse list.

as a vietnamese person, highly disagree we have the best 'cuisine' in the US. When I think better viet cuisine, I can definitely find better in California, New York, and Texas.
that's not to say some local ones aren't great, because dong phuong probably has the best bread hands down, but everything else here is not "omg you HAVE to get this".

Better titled: most obscure food to be found each state.

Precisely. Greek food in Alabama? Yeah we have some decent places but the go to is BBQ with white sauce if we’re going to name something good and unique to the state.

Yeah this is a head scratcher. I live outside lexington ky and have never heard of a sri lankan restaurant.

TN
I mean come on. The is isn't a bad place that I go to at least one a month because it's next door to my mechanic but I hardly think it's worth driving to Nashville for. I do like the kubideh and turkish coffee.

Start with the unassuming House of Kabob, where the dolma and tabbouleh are just as delicious as the restaurant’s namesake dish.

List should be titled “Most Ethnic Food In Each State”

Friends,
I think you forget the reason publications make lists: to get you to read and then comment. Their livelihoods are at stake, and whatever it takes to increase readership, desperate authors for these desperate publications will do. Lists are helpful ways to organize topics, but I only trust those whose paycheck does not depend on readership and make lists for sheer pleasure.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Lao cuisine is worth traveling to Texas for, according to the article.

The Greek-owned restaurant scene in Alabama is great, and long-running. In Bham there's Smokehouse, Nikki's West, Fish Market, Sam's Super Sandwiches, Pappa's Grill, Sarris', Yanni's, Gus's, Johnny's plus Bright Star in Bessemer.
I love the barbecue with white sauce at Miss Myra's in Cahaba Heights, and Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur but there is a huge, century-plus old Greek scene in Bama.

Not surprising. The person who wrote that blurb just happens to be promoting their own Sri Lankan popup restaurant.

conde nast done shite on their credibility.
the kebob place in nashville is ok but there's better thai and vietnamese here in the city if we're going for 'top ethnic in a given state'
these lists are dumb.
