I like to use my own clubs because I don't want to screw up my feel for my short game by using a different set that I won't ever use on the course.

I 've never been the only person there with my own set.

It's like bringing your own pool cue to a bar with some pool tables available.

Been a while since I’ve been there but thought all the irons had graphite shafts which is a different feel. I’m a high handicap though I’d bring my own clubs.

Make sure to bring your own pro Vs and rangefinder too

Honestly I wouldn’t bother bringing clubs. Maybe a glove if I’m taking it seriously

You better win. If Mary from accounting lucks out and beats the guy that brought his own clubs to a work event I would never let him hear the end of it
The look on his cocky arse face when he finds out that Mary from Accounting's husband is the local golf pro is going to be fantastic.

I'm terrible at golf. Whenever I go to TopGolf I pretend to be more drunk than I really am to justify my shitty swing.

If you bring your own clubs and lose to Bridgett, the front desk secretary, you will never hear the end of it.

Had a buddy come to Top Golf for the first time. dude brought his entire bag, dressed in golf attire (tucked in polo, golf pants, cap, and gloves). Looked like a total jackass and no $ was on the line

Apparently the best score gets $1000. I’m a single digit handicap and don’t know of anyone else in the office that plays golf.

Whomever that came up with this idea must like you.
Hopefully, it's a female's idea, but I have my doubts. The girls in the Hallmark Channel movies would never come up with a sports related contest for money, let alone $1000.
A girl would come up with some baking contest or decorating contest.
So, my money is on the office fairy guy that came up with this and he will pull all the stops to let you win.
Just don't tank it for him. He's counting on you to be happy Friday night.

keep in mind, you're not playing golf, you're playing top golf. They have lots of different games to pick from that require various levels of skill. Some of them a decent golfer will easily be way out ahead of everyone else. Others Karen from HR just needs to send it in the general direction and get a lucky bounce to upset the field. Try to get a game that requires hitting past the third level of targets, heavily rewards consistency, or deducts points for incorrect targets.

I’d take the bag.

But I take some of my clubs when I go anyway. Driver and 8 at least

The only risk is if you lose to some scrub using the default Topgolf clubs.

I’ve seen this happen, the laughter and verbal abuse was brutal. It’s like showing up at a bar with your own custom pool cue, you better be not just good, but really good because all eyes are on you.

A couple people I’ve asked said all you have to do is hit it against the back net every time to score the most which should be easy to do with a 4 or hybrid. I may just bring those.

They said the targets weren’t what you go after if you’re just trying to score. Just hit the back net.

I hope that you get dialed in on every target but have your ball always hit one of the frame members and bounce out of the circle and get no points. That would be funny.
