Inexperienced Freeman HC (great coach though)
Inexperienced Rees without Kelly

Seems like a bold strategy Cotton.

Lol that narrative that LSU couldn’t afford anyone. They’re fricking making it rain like crazy.

I'm actually relieved about this. I would like to see him re-imagine the offense and choose an OC who will run an effective offense in-line with what is happening in the SEC. IMO, like in 2019, the offense will need to score at least 34 points per game to be in the upper-echelon of teams competing for a CFP. He has money at his disposal, go get the best OC possible that can bring balance between the run and pass.

Would make sense that they’ve struck a deal with Fickell and that’s why there is no interim HC. Fickell tells Rees he’ll keep him as his OC. It’s going to be hard to keep it quiet if Cincy makes the playoffs though. Seems like a lot of speculation would happen over that time.

How can they offer their Coordinators their jobs before hiring a HC?

That’s fine. Not really enamored by his resume. Would think our $100mm coach has a few guys in the Rolodex that would at the very least match a guy who has been an OC for barely 2 seasons.

I've really never seen anything exciting about the Rees offense.

I mean, I get it, but this is the time where you choose between potentially one day being a name brand national coach or living your whole life centered around one school but never being the big man. If you choose the latter, that’s fine and we don’t want you anwyay

I heard on some show the other day that SW had secured 26 million to cover all the buyouts. O’s was 17 so that would leave 9 million to cover all the assistants. Also they only had to pay Orgeron half of his buyout within 30 days. The rest is spread out over multiple years

This is really shocking. I know he's an ND lifer so far, but he's also a BK lifer and he's almost assuredly staring down a demotion to QB coach or analyst if not outright firing if he stays, and that's before LSU offered more money.
