My three year old daughter had enough sense to know that the offense had to be changed. Basically you're saying that because he recognized shite that even Stevie Wonder saw, that makes him praiseworthy? 2019 was great and he deserves his fair share of credit if for nothing else, him keeping his dumbass out of the way of real football coaches, but 2019 is long gone. After the past 15 games, it feels like 10 years ago. He doesn't get a pass on being an idiot on and off the field forever.

Put Orgeron at Texas or TAMU and decide if he would be doing better or worse than those two.

Our QB room was trash.

Texas had Sam Ehlinger who was promising as a True Freshman.

Joe wasn’t walking into any real QB competitions after Ohio State

Herman really shite the bed, after using LSU, Jimbo is ridiculously overpaid, and the game has passed him

I think Texas is just toxic and Herman never really had a chance there. Don’t know how well he would have done here, but likely a lot better than he did at Texas. And I admit, he was my first choice when we were looking last time.

I’ve never been a big fan of Jimbo. I think he is sort of like Ed (though still a MUCH MUCH better coach) in that he got lucky and rode the perfect storm to a tittle at FSU and hasn’t done much else since.

Neither are guys we should take a look at this go around

yea, at TEXAS.

Herman would've recruited insane talent if he was at LSU.

It's far too simplistic to say Herman failed at Texas so he also would've failed here. That's not how it works.

Lets be honest here. The same pieces would have likely been in place if Herman was coach and not O. All except maybe Joe Brady. Burrow likely still comes to LSU because he had a strong relationship with Herman. The rest of the talent would mostly had still been there. LSU maybe still goes on that historic run in 2019 with Herman.

Yep. People act like Herman went to Texas and promptly had losing seasons. He, in fact, had winning seasons in the 4 he was there. Was 32-18 and his team finished ranked in years 2-4.

I'm thankful that CEO made the decision to get rid of Canada and then get help for Ensminger after the 1st season with Burrow. Going out and getting Brady and hanging on to Aranda, he deserves credit for these moves.

But since then his hiring has been crappy. It's like he hired guys with no coordinator experience so that he can be praised if they are really successful, but because of the lack of experience they all had, they would never threaten his HC status if things got bad.

Yes Pelini had lots of experience and even as a HC, but that was a disaster at NEB so he was never a threat of taking CEO's job.

CEO knew he had 3 to 4 seasons before he would get fired, if he at least put upt 8 win seasons and he could ride the gravy train into retirement.

He looked at it that he could just put up decent records LSU would in no way fire him because the fans like him and he is "one of them". However, maybe he didn't think about the possibility of these green coordinators not being up to the job and LSU stinks it up 2 yrs in a row. Then his plan goes out the window if you drop turds for 2 seasons.

I think actually this season would be OK if it wasn't for the O-line. This is the glaring issue and I don't know how it got that bad.

CEO didn't make the decision to get E help though. He didn't go out and get Brady. Also, hanging on to Aranda wasn't exactly a decision that took a genius to make.

What?

He had the 4th best team in the country last year. He lost his #1 Qb this year, and yet has the exact same record as Florida and LSU currently. And has beaten LSU every year, except for the NC year

Either of those dudes would've won a natty here too. Coach O and Les have proven it doesn't take a wizard

Not really I think it was the safety coach who told O about burrow and rest is history. Herman is a bum and jimbo is trending in wrong direction again.

Ensminger and Aranda were legacies left her by Miles. Yes, O kept them here. With E that was easy, LSU was where he wanted to stay. I think Aranda was sticking around until he got the right offer though I am sure he was fairly happy at LSU. Credit to O for not thinking he needed to clean house.

E is the guy who found and asked for Brady's help. Kudo's to O for not short circuiting that.

I think O needs to be replaced but I don't want him run out of town on a rail.

He is NOT overpaid and had his team ranked 5th at the end of last season. He lost all his linemen and his starting QB last year and this year. Come November he will run roughshod to go up 3-1 on LSU.

And he went 13-22 for 155 yards and TD in their spring game.

Compared to Brennan’s freshmen stats:
14/24 for 182 yards 1 TD and 2 Int

And Our coaches aggressively pursued him because our QB were not ready.

Why in the frick do y'all think he's going to be a candidate? Number one, he doesn't want to coach anymore. Number two, he's never going to leave the west coach. Number three, he HATES recruiting. Number four, he's not as good as people think he is.

I'll always be thankful to O for 2019 but it's probably best that we part ways
