No doubt you're one of the dolts who drive around in rain storms with lights flashing

People dont even get in trouble for hit and run.
Why do I care if hazards are illegal?

Usually I agree with you but when the wipers don’t go any faster the only tool I’m left with is turning in the flashers. Safety before manners.

Just pull over and the people who can drive in the rain do it.

Precisely. And what is the universal symbol for "I'm pulled over on the shoulder so approach with caution because there could be humans walking around this vehicle"? That's right, hazard lights on. It's very confusing and ridiculous when retards decide to put on their hazard lights when driving in the rain. Not only does it make it difficult to distinguish in low visibility which vehicles are on the shoulder and which ones aren't, it makes it very difficult to distinguish between running lights and brake lights. It's MORE dangerous to ride with hazards, yet so many people do it because it's what they were taught or because they see other retards doing it and I'll never understand it.

And on that note, a WORKING, FLASHING YELLOW means drive through it with caution and don't treat it as a 4-way stop you mongoloids.

This is more dangerous.

If it's white out conditions the best course of action is to slow down to a safe speed. Not everyone's idea of "safe speed" is the same. Flashing lights might get someone's attention and keep you from getting rear ended.

Another occasion I use it is on sudden freeway/interstate slow downs or stops. People just don't pay attention and often aren't prepared to stop--secondary accidents happen all the time this way. I'll hit the flashers until traffic behind me has slowed. Brake lights mean nothing in this situation. A brake light to shave off a half mph looks exactly the same as a panic-stop brake light.

IDGAF what's legal about it. Anything I can do to increase visibility in a potentially deadly situation, I'll do it.

They put the large hazard button front and center for a reason.

.

If you can’t proceed at a safe speed (above 50mph) get off the road. Hazards are to warn other drivers you’re traveling slower than minimum speed posted. It’s against the law.

Trucks will routinely have their 4ways on when climbing steep grades - theirs is to warn other drivers he’s an obstacle in the flow the traffic. They will also use 4ways when they are in the process of seeking ‘refuge’ (next exit) due to mechanical issues

That’s not the same as a car using 4ways because it’s raining. Pull off at an exit until the rain clears.

The OT would rather complain about something that doesn't affect their life in the slightest, than admit that you made a great point about safety being more pertinent than how someone perceives the action begetting the safety.

-Signed someone who doesn't use flashers at all, but doesn't give a shite if someone else does.

Please tell me how other drivers are supposed to know if yiu are pulled over or just an a-hole?

Depth perception is hard in the rain and yiu are making it harder on the other drivers to decipher what is and isn’t on the road.

Your attempt to be “safer” actually puts you in more danger.
