Swedish car designer whose cars are made in China wants pleather & vinyl seats back!
Volvo wants your arse stuck back in those Pleather & Vinyl seats
Volvo Cars wants all the models it sells to be leather-free by 2030, a move which represents the latest example of how automakers are looking to make their vehicles more sustainable.
In an announcement Thursday, the Swedish firm also said it wanted a quarter of the material used in its new cars to “consist of recycled and bio-based content” by 2025.
While it intends to scrap the use of leather in its vehicles, the company said it would “continue to offer wool blend options from suppliers that are certified to source responsibly.”
“There is no long-term future for cars with an internal combustion engine,” Henrik Green, Volvo Cars’ chief technology officer, said at the time. “We are firmly committed to becoming an electric-only car maker and the transition should happen by 2030,” Green said.

Somehow I doubt that this will happen.

I'll be holding on to my combustion leather wrapped conveyances for as long as I humanly possibly can.

This would be "sustainable vinyl" so it gets a pass.

How is leather not sustainable? Cows eat grass, cows turn grass to meat, meat is wrapped in leather, we don’t eat the leather.
Probably one of the oldest products there is and really a wonderfully versatile product. I guarantee you that leather is more eco friendly than chemical shite Made in a lab

This is what I was wondering. You take a bull and introduce it to a cow. Natural progression takes over.

We are still eating beef. Why waste the leather?

Fewer cattle in the world means more bio-engineered vegetarian crap that Bill Gates can sell to the masses.

Wouldn't having leather mean more dead cows?
And, wouldn't more dead cows mean less methane in the atmosphere?
And, wouldn't less methane in the atmosphere please the enviromental whackjob Nazis as they claim it would help with the Climate Change hoax?
So, looks like Volvo has a conundrum.
