As title states have a dog next door that is apparently super territorial and never stops barking at me. It used to be when I walked near the fence....now I can't open by patio door with out getting barked and snarled at and it's driving me fricking nuts. I say something across the fence and my stupid neighbor will call it over and calm it down for a few minutes...then I make too much noise and that 4 legged a-hole is back at it barking loud as hell. Anyone had success with this....maybe a dog whistle? Do those bark boxes work? I look forward to a bunch of terrible sarcastic answers and maybe 1-2 useful ones.

Call the cops, watch the cop go up to the door. Said dog tries to attack cop, cop pew pew pews said dog. Film the whole event and yell “WORLDSTAR”.

Profit?

Maybe get an adolescent wolf. Will take a few months and training before it gets big enough to eat the neighbors dog. Another option would be to get treats and to tell sit at it. The dog will smell the treat and then figure it out. Only problem is you would need to give it treats Everytime you are outside because it would expect that.

Not much you can do as long as it’s behind a fence & not barking in the middle of the night
I had the same issue, thankfully the kid moved out & took dogs with him

Try this. Have the dog experience discomfort when he barks.

When you know your neighbor is home, grab a few beers and a lawnchair and go sit right by the fence and drink beer. Don't acknowledge the barking dog in any way. Don't look at it, yell at it, talk to it, feed it treats, nothing. Just sit there and let it bark at you until the neighbor comes get it.

Repeat.

Dogs bark at the mailman, and UPS man and others because they think it works. They bark, the person comes to the door. They bark louder, the person goes away. In their dumb arse doggy brain, their barking was the reason they went away.

Same deal with you in your back yard. You go away, dog thinks it's barking is why.

Unless there is some kind of noise ordinance in your area, there is pretty much nothing you can do.

my wife's dog barks at anybody outside at the neighbors house. Thankfully they're only outside once a week or so. I've been spraying him with the hose whenever he starts up and it's been working well. we don't put him outside alone at night. the neighbor said they don't care but it aggravates the hell out of me.

Explain to your neighbor that their stradegy for controlling thier animal isn't working and to please keep the dog inside.
Once you try to resolve it like an adult, if they refuse to change the situation, you have full rights to change it yourself.

*this is not legal advice, just my opinion as someone who is completely fed up with self-absorbed, entitled assholes that the world is full of these days.
