If you have academic issues preventing you from playing at LSU with all the resources and help they give you to pass, you just don't care.

It's amazing the number of games players miss time for things like academics, drug suspensions, etc.
You are never going to compete in this conference with the constant players missing time for mysterious reasons every single year
On top of that, you have several walk ons listed on the depth chart as well, how does it get to that point with 85 scholarships that walk ons litter the depth chart at key positions

The only thing I can think is that Emery was required to meet certain academic credit requirements and took a summer intercession class to catch up and meet those requirements, but failed it.

this is a common occurrence with Ed players. Many just don’t give a frick.

Those damn Friday pop quizzes. We need to have him pass one so he can get up over whatever the requisite GPA is

I doubt this is it, but I was thinking his family’s home in Destrehan might have been hit hard by Ida. Could be that but I doubt he would miss a game for that. I’m sure his family wouldn’t want him doing that anyways.

My dad lives in Destrehan. I can attest, it was hit hard.

He more than likely failed some Spring courses and had to go to summer school and intersession to get eligible. I would assume it has to do with his summer classes.

Any player that fails out of LSU just doesn't give 2 shits plain and simple. They have every opportunity to succeed.

That's not a "week to week" issue though. That's a "he's done" issue.

if he is ineligible due to academics then he is just 5 star bust at this point. he was a big part of a recruiting class and has yet to really get going. if a great player gets hurt and never really is able to recover to contribute, that is not a bust. It is unfortunate for that young man, but if you can't stay disciplined in the classroom then you just let your team down that is counting on you.

It's because our compliance department is fricking disgrace.

Hardly any other school in the SEC has the issues LSU has.

incredible how we can dismiss players from the team for smoking weed (Dare Rosenthal) and another SEC team can just scoop them up and it not be an issue all of a sudden.

fricking. Ridiculous.

Yall dont realize big time players arent normal students?

I had a QB in a calculus class. Almost everyone failed, but this dude got an A and slept through every class.

He didn’t pass enough hours during fall and spring. Took classes during the summer to meet his academic year requirement. Likely didn’t pass enough there. I have a child that is an athlete at LSU. The ONLY reason you fail to qualify is because you don’t attend any class, don’t take advantage of ANY of the thousand of dollars of free assistance they provide to you or both. They give those athletes everything imaginable to assist with obtaining a degree. I can’t comprehend his situation based upon what I know.

The fact it’s “academic” and “week to week” means he got caught cheating in some form or fashion and it’s under review

If it was grades he wouldn’t have a chance to become eligible until the end of this semester
