Not sure about the actual town but plenty of folks east and west on 22 have and do. There’s a lot of marsh and swamp between there and Manchac that I assume is going to get lake water with this setup.

And with the amount of rain we have had this year, that ground is already very wet and the trees will fall just as easily as the waters will rise.

If I didnt have other trees around us removed, I would have to say staying was dumb. I'm second guessing myself now for staying in Springfield without those big trees next to my house

Ponchatoula = Ponchartrain

They will be one for a good 6-12 hours.

That's probably due to the shitty drainage because of all the development going on.

Like I said, spoken like every crew I have ever dealt with. Right up until they blame management for not having the right tools or the seal being DOA.

Will always have an excuse.

Good for you taking care of family.

I’m in the same boat. Can’t leave behind elderly family or emergency workers.

Nothing I can do at this point but I’m pretty annoyed my parents are refusing to leave. Like what is gained by staying and starring down the barrel of a bad one willingly?

Hopefully I’m being dramatic but frick man.

Terrebonne/Lafourche has to be seeing rising waters right now. Any reports out of those areas?

The big electrical contracting crews have a ton of it. It’s impressive.

Maybe they don't have a place to go, can't transport everyone effectively, or want to hold the fort down for their family. Think twice before posting such a thoughtless statement.

What I’m mostly worried about is that this is a new house with tones of glass and windows.

You need a safe room, preferably without windows. If that isn’t an option, use your mattresses and place them in front of the windows of the safe room. You can also tape the inside of the windows in an asterisk pattern to help with breaking windows.

Also try to pick a room (if possible) away from large trees outside. With a newer house, this may not be a problem.

Is the concern for NOLA more wind, water/flood, or just generally shitty aftermath? Staying in lakeview with whole home generator. Want to know what I’m in for.
