I know BR had sustained winds of 61 mph in BR during Gustav. (It also had gust 91mph)

When they say IDA has sustained winds currently at 105 mph...that is at flight level! That does not mean sustained winds are at 105mph at the surface / water ; sustained winds prolly in the 80's ....gust are close 105mph....maybe up to 125mph

With all the “sizable jump east” posts I’ve seen today this thing should be in the Atlantic by now lol

No. They mean the maximum winds at the surface are 105.

Any issue with leaving NO now and heading to Florida? Traffic doesn’t look too bad online.

Can you literally tell them they’ll drown?? I’m not being ugly. Desperate times call for desparate measures.

All the more reason to tell people to leave as early as possible, no?

FYI AF303 the recon flight from San Antonio, is ~390 miles west of the eye traveling at ~390 miles per hour. So we are ~1 hour out from getting the most tangible data we've had in a long time.

Those staying up, we may have a considerable update from this recon, even if its not not on the official bihourly NOAA map, the aircraft recon data is live.

Beautiful clear sky in Folsom. The stars are amazing. Fireflies are thick. Such a weird feeling knowing what’s on the way.

Well, guess I’m staying up for the new data. The 10:00 update literally has the damn thing passing in my back yard in Walker. I have family in tangipahoa and my wife’s family is in BR. Kind of a catch 22. Right now it’s in my back yard, but a shift east puts it on my family and a shift west puts it on my in laws - who flooded in May.
