Yeah, that happened at a lot of places actually. The ditches couldn't drain, the rivers couldn't drain, so they just backed up into people's yard. I know down 22 the ditches were so swamped it just backed up into people's houses. Saw nothing but gutted houses down 22 in 2016.

. A good crew of millwrights and pipefitters can pull, rebuild, and install a pump in a shift. To have any of these pumps out during hurricane season is pure malfeasance in office.
If they have the seal kit and all.
These pumps aren't the size you are probably used to anyway.
I'm not defending SWB, but most people talk like every contractor ever employed.

Certainly better than Ormond for flooding.

It will be 100% her fault but nobody will call her on it because she's a Girl Boss! Just like nobody called her on flying to the BVI for a party in March.

First time her underqualication might actually have an affect on me.
Think it will show.
No doubt she takes zero blame, but hopefully it forces her out with how she handles the response.
Still have no clue why yall can't vote in an R mayor or Gov. The numbers don't make sense.

Good thing that awful Port Manchac luxury development never happened.

As far as I know they never even had standing water in the street even when ormond was going through those floods

I think you are saying that you are staying behind.. what I am about to say is horrible, but it really is something that anyone needs to figure out if they are staying in the path.
Find an Axe.
You need to plan for worst case scenario, where you have to break the roof from the inside because of rising water, so that you can climb on your roof and wait to be rescued.
Unfortunately, a lot of people died in Katrina this way.. they went into the attic to avoid the water, and it kept rising.. and they had no way to get out.
You likely won’t have this problem, but be prepared in case you do. If you don’t have an axe, perhaps a hammer and something large to penetrate the roof. A spike or something like that..
Thoughts and prayers to all in the path.. stay safe!
PS: DO NOT RUN YOUR GENERATORS IN YOUR GARAGE.. the Carbon Monoxide can kill you

I’m evac’d. I’m talking about the entire city of New Orleans being destroyed and everything I’ve worked for being evaporated.
While others on here gloat and jump for joy.
It’s really quite sickening.

First time in recent memory that the hurricane hunters weren’t on point and running constantly. No reason those planes shouldn’t be some of the best maintained and newest in the air
I could give you a reason, but Duke would do harsh things to me in return.

We have a D for Governor. Explain to me how that happens 50% of the time. Really more than 50% of the time.

Gospel and homily today were basically in short terms about remembering material things don’t truly matter — you and your family do.

Cantrells response during all of this shows how under qualified she is for her position.
Every single thing she has done or said since she began her first day of campaigning showed that.
The city administration and the state administration are absolutely incompetent and horrifically unqualified disasters. We are going to get pounded by a Hurricane and then have no help at all afterwards except what we can muster from our own families and communities. God help us.

Checking in from OB as well, the pass is angry right now.
Seems like this is our forecast for the next 36 hours.
