Had a chance to go through some of my Grandpa's WWII stuff

My great aunt recently passed and we found a lot of my grandpa's belongings in her stuff. I got a few good laughs from some of it.
I'm guessing this was the 1940s equivalent of "like and share". There were dozens of these.
There are a few photos that say "Taken at Hitler's home". I'm guessing Berghof but it's hard to tell.
ETA: my sister colorized one of the photographs from the negative. Looks like Berghoff.
Not sure who this feller is.
It looks like the soldier/tranny thing is not a new phenomenon.
ETA: Some posters said this might be a crossing of the equator ceremony. It might go along with this.
Never met him but these patches tell me he was a tough dude.
I'll try and get some more posted if y'all are interested. I get kind of an sad feeling looking through all this stuff. It's the closest I'll get to knowing him.

Selfies aren't new
Before my grandma passed she told us that she couldn't wake him up by touching him. She had to stand back from the bed and call to him because he would jump up swinging. He was at Bastogne and hated the cold until the day he died.
ETA: Bayerische Staatskanzlei in Munich

Army, we always assumed 101st because of his patches in pictures but we found discharge papers from the 82nd. We need to contact the VA and see what they can tell us. We have a letter saying he was MIA presumed dead but (not sure how much of this is true) when the eagles nest was raided a few weeks later he showed up with a few other missing guys.

101st Airborne.
I always had respect for the early paratroopers. When I first jumped out of a plane it wasn't a foreign concept. During training, most of those guys were probably jumping out of the first plane they had ever been in. Can you imagine in the 40's flying in a plane then jumping out hanging under a table cloth.

These are awesome. Please post more if you can.
At least you have this. I don't have much from my maternal grandfather other than stories. He was in the navy in WWII serving in the Pacific but as far i know, he had no memorabilia such as these

During WWII there was lots of movement between the 82nd, 101st and the 13th. I used to know the history but have forgotten. I think the 101st and 13th were formed using units from the 82nd.

awesome.. keep em coming. One of the things that I enjoy about collecting this stuff, is trying to piece it all together and figure it out.

I am going through a box that I was given that My great aunt saved as well.. I have barely even scratch the surface on it.
But... I have discovered LT. Grace E. Dunnam... story to follow one day.

my great uncle was one of the guards for the nuremburg trials. apparently he got super yuppy with goering and when goering took the cyanide, everyone just assumed he was the one who passed it to him. apparently was a big scandal. hes even on georings wikipedia page 
back in like 2004 or 2005 he was vindicated by a guy who, on his deathbed, admitted to accidently passing him the cyanide and it was a big thing for that side of the family

As for the cards, my buddies grandma said something to me and him one time that I will never forget. My buddy told some off color story, we didn't know she was in ear shot, and she remarked:

Dad left his souvenirs in Japan after given minutes notice to catch a ship coming home or wait a week.
An uncle by marriage had a meatball flag, and officers samurai sword and a 4 foot long string of gold teeth he knocked out of Japanese dead after the fell to his machine gun. Those were all allowed by the Army during WWII. Military has to appease pussies these days.
So Uncle Wilbert took those out to show us, and his 10 kids, about how we treat our enemies, domination. He fought in New Guinea and Philippines.
