You'll need to settle that trip with one of the workers at the kiosk in the station before your next trip - not a big deal, it happens regularly enough.

X-ray won't show soft tissue damage. Going to need an MRI from her PCP or ortho for that.
If you were my friend and starting crying at dinner during a sad song, I'd stop inviting you

No such thing as a fly by the night medical school - MD and DO accreditation are pretty rigorous. In either case, students there must pass board exams and complete residencies, same as any other medical school
Echo sentiments of previous posters - had a mild to moderate tear labrum tear in my shoulder. I put it off a couple of years for no good reason before having the surgery - in retrospect, I should have just gotten the surgery earlier. The nerve block knocked out 90% of the pain in the first 48 hours, and I didn't have too tough a time after that. PT for 2 months and slept in a recliner for probably 3-4 months.
My advice - see if you can get accommodations at work and get the surgery done with.
No ball cutting involved in hernia repair
I'm split on the P/F discussion - on one hand, students have to be stratified by one metric or another. With p/f step1, I really think all emphasis will be placed on step2, which will be associated with its own issues (no 'hard stop' until the end of 3rd year for students applying to competitive specialties. I've noticed a lot of people planning on applying to super competitive surg subspecialties who I think would have been filtered out by now to more reasonable expectations with a scored step1).
On the other hand, the information tested on step1 became some esoteric as to be useless in the clinical setting.
All in all, I think I would have benefited from a scored step1, and would have preferred to have that option.

Hard to beat living in the same city as family.

To be square with you, the first 2 years will look the same either place - you'll be using the same 3rd party resources to study for system exams and step prep.

As for 3rd year and beyond - Shreveport is one of the only major hospitals for hundreds of miles in all directions, so you'll get some really great exposure and experience to an incredible range of pathology. NOLA is certainly the more prestigious of the 2, but Shreveport grads do match well.

One thing to look for is how often the home institution will take students from the medical school for different residencies, esp the surg subspecialties - taking a lot of students from the home med school is a vote of confidence in the quality of residents produced from the med school - just food for thought.

Shreveport is really hard if you're single - the dating pool outside your class is microscopic (I imagine it's even harder for women). Otherwise, Shreveport is an ok place to live - much cheaper than NOLA, no traffic, and there are nice parts of town.
Applied to both NOLA and Shreveport, and would have gone to NOLA if I'd gotten in there tbh

Looking for a reputable mechanic - any suggestions?
Specifically getting my CCL before visiting NOLA in a few weeks
Thinking about all the other lives this guy put at risk by driving like that through crowded streets - frick that guy, he got what he deserved.

Very surprised the EMTs did not take him to the hospital without making him sign a waiver first.
Without knowing more than you've told us on the board, no one here can rule out a sudden cardiac event - best time to go to the ER would have been last night, second best time is right now.
Sudden return to consciousness without any lingering confusion would, to me, lessen the likelihood of a hypoglycemic event or seizure. Dehydration seems unlikely too since he was sitting in a bar.

Very cool - thanks for sharing. Do you know if he was army or navy?
I don't know how to feel, but think we should kick out aTm either way
