Here in NE AL I have known and known of many people over the years, especially from Chicago, that show up in the local communities without much explanation and then usually disappear within months. One such guy got married to a local lady and then died. The wife found all kinds of info after he died about his previous identity. She had no idea.

We have one guy who runs a small deli here in Chattanooga that is a stereotypical NY mobster. He is basically Sil from the sopranos.

I'm 98% sure he is WPP.

Huntsville has its share of Chicago transplants also. The one I talked to came because they are either politically conservative or they were getting bent over on property taxes.

That'd be a good spot. No one, and I mean no one, would think the look in Flat Rock.

There are certain cities that the WPP loved to use at some point.

Louisville, KY, was one during the 80, which freaked Henry Hill out when he was sent there because it also happened to be near a federal prison where a bunch of people he knew were either serving time or visiting.

Covington/Mandeville seems like an ideal drop off for those types

We have some neighbors who we have theorized may be. Moved in about a year ago, mid 40’s, no kids he “works from home” but despite numerous conversations we still have no idea what he does. They seem to have money nonetheless. They rarely leave the house and when they do, it’s almost always together. No social media or internet presence.

Pretty sure trailer parks don’t meet the minimum standard for witness protection

There was a Colombian family in my neighborhood growing up in Lafayette that I'm pretty sure was WPP. The parents would call their kids different names. They would talk about being from Medellin and then say something completely different a month later.

I know a guy here North Alabama who traveled to the former Soviet Union. He was asking the tour guide over there how she learned to speak such perfect english and she said that she was a former spy in the USA. After the fall of the Soviet Union they brought a lot of them home and since they could speak such good English they became tour guides and translators.

He asked her what area she worked in the USA and she said Huntsville Alabama. She said that would ingrain themselves into Huntsville society and go to parties and just listen to people talk. She also said they got a lot of information straight out of the newspapers back in the day. He thought she was bullshitting at first but after talking to her she knew a lot of the family names around Huntsville
