Good to know. I ordered the Sidi Shot Vent Carbons. Reviews have been good. People seem to like the adjustable heels and open/close vent idea. Complaints were on the tongue BOAs and fit if you have wide feet which I do not. They were on sale in a Fire Engine Red which well yeah I guess I’ll need get used to that, lol.

How do y'all fuel before/during/after a long ride? I get what I can only describe as a post-ride fever after I finish, where I feel dehydrated and have a headache and feel hot. I'm assuming it's because I'm not drinking enough during the ride.

Had a pretty shitty week in Orange Beach, cycling wise. Got a good 50 miler in to Fort Morgan on my first ride, but the next 2 delivered 2 flat tires, both on the rear of course. Second punctured my tire pretty bad. Brand new tires, less than 500 miles.

Yep, I think so. Damn road was like a landmine. Got the Retul bike fit tomorrow, so I’ll just have them put a new one on prior. Got the wheels in also, so perfect world they can get everything good to go.

Which road? I was planning to ride the bike lane along beach Blvd/182. That area one to avoid?

Perdido Beach Blvd. for sure. Caught that chunk of metal right by Flora Bama, but I could see glass glittering throughout much of the bike lane. Broken bottle in bike lane on overpass near Caribe.

Following. There's a place in New Orleans that does Retul fitting but it's about twice as expensive as the 3D fitting in Mandeville. Trying to decide

Yeah, that’s where I’m going (Bayou Bicycles). Didn’t know about the place in Mandeville, but already locked in. Price is pretty steep, but I think it’ll be worth it. Looking forward to gaining the knowledge.

Caught a good ride at 5pm today. That mindfrick in Eureka Springs helped me realize that my normal isnt that bad, so I pushed a little harder than normal.

Had to do something productive. My 7 year old daughter got 2nd AG at the Ironfish Tri on Saturday (100yd swim, 3mi bike, 1k run) and my wife got top 10 AG at River Cities today. Proud of them both.

Anyone in the trainer market? I have a brand new Tacx Flux S that was just sent to me by Garmin as a warranty replacement. It needs a cassette hub body. I will throw in an 11sp cassette as well.

I know “budget” often doesn’t have a place in the serious cycling world, but grabbed some Sensah brifters to throw on my cruiser bike. Hoping to get them installed this weekend but waiting on some other parts. They seem pretty decent tbh. Supposedly it’s a Chinese company started by some former SRAM engineers, early products were hit and miss but they’ve been updating materials for more longevity and better quality control.

Anyone here know anything about the Semi-Tough Cycling Club in Nola?

Kind of half thinking about joining it.

Just did an easy 15 miles around the neighborhood. My God it feels good when it’s 70 degrees with no sun beaming down on you
