It’s one of those close your eyes and point to something on the menu places, can’t really go wrong with whatever catches your eye.

I enjoy their seafood pot pie, crawfish hand pies, the burgers are good. Red beans are some of the best I’ve had, but the fried chicken is a little underwhelming. The fried seafood is also underrated. Starting with the pimento dip or the crawfish queso is a must.

Entrees are a lot of food as well
I've skipped desert because of it but the pies are what they are known for

It really is good. My kids usually get fried seafood or chicken fingers and fries and I help them finish their plate every time.

Most of the dessert pies are awesome.
I really liked brunch there, the housemade biscuits and jellies are great.
The crab pie is really good, comes out in square, no crust

The Natchitoches meat pies are the best I've ever had, and I used to live in Natchitoches!

[e]: Let me explain what's wrong with Lasyone's nowadays. The last few times that I've gone there the crust has been tough and chewy. That's not what I want from a meat pie. It should be crisp and flaky. Elsie's has that and lately Lasyone's doesn't.

Everything is good. We've been several times with different people and nobody has had a bad meal.

Shrimp diablo sandwich
crawfish panini
Colorado burger
Louisiana Poulet pie

Key lime pie and s'mores pies are delicious

These are my two favorite ones. The shrimp diablo is where I got the idea for my sandwich when we did the sandwich competition. Pepper jelly on a grilled cheese with shrimp is so delish.

My favorite item on the menu is the crawfish queso and pork rinds. The pork skins still come out popping from the grease.

I don't like fried shrimp too much but they have the absolute best in the city. I love their fried shrimp.

Also thier Ruby Greens salad is excellent only in the side portion. They normally overdue the dressing and what not in the larger portion.

You should let the owners know. They seem to be confused about the name as well. The name on their website is the same as in the post you replied to.

My statement was a response to the question posed by the title of the thread.

I have a weird, visceral and admittedly irrational hatred of a naming trend for restaurants that seemed to gain prevalence around ten years ago, give or take, of using dishes, utensils, etc. in the name (e.g., Plate and Pie, Table is Bread, Fork and Spoon).

I agree when they use abstract words, but that’s not what I think of with Elsie’s. It’s a place lunch and Pie restaurant, so it makes sense to me more so than those others.
