I just want to add something that I wouldn't get again, and that's the "Pie Shop Apple Pie." It's apple pie ingredients served piping hot in a cast iron pan with a crust on top. It hasn't set, so it's apple pie soup. I don't know what the concept was on this or why it's still on the menu, but as soon as I poked into the crust I was "WTF?"

One thing I would also avoid is the pie nachos. It is just slivers of pie crust deep fried and they drizzle filling/sugar on it. You would think that's great, but it is just too... crust-y.

I guess enough people like it for it to stay on the menu but it just isn't for me LL. I understand what you're saying.

Here's how it went.
Entree selections were Boudin Burger, Hwy 1 Burger, Meat Pies, Seafood Pot Pie, and Hot Crawfish Melt. Crawfish Nachos for appetizer and Pie Nachos for dessert. Everything was very good. Service was a bit slow. Not terribly expensive. We will likely be back.
Thanks for the recommendations!

It is boudin that is formed into a patty, breaded, and fried. Then on a big arse burger patty with smoked gouda and pepper jack I think.

Add a fried egg too.

I wouldn't go that far. Chicken Shack and Stockyard Cafe are better.

Took me forever to get there but I love it. They have some of the best fried okra I’ve ever had. And the turtle pie is delicious.

Incredible red beans

I really want to try them, but my cheap arse knows how cheap it is to make a pot of beans and some jiffy. I can fry up some trout to go with it if I am feeling fancy.

Went to Elsie's Friday evening.

seafood pot pie is pretty good.

Place was hopping! Service was good.

It's just such a hassle. The traffic on Govt is horrible and the parking situation sucks.

unless you want to park across govt and play frogger.

That's exactly what we had to do. It's the same problem that the old Calendar's space on Perkins at Essen has. Awful traffic and even worse access.

This is what I ordered the one time I've been and I really enjoyed it.
