Lets put a positive spin on this.

Zion and his family SHOULD be unhappy with the current state of the Pels. We aren't winning. You want him to have that fire to win.

Secondly, this will undoubtedly put more pressure on Griff/Gayle to make moves to improve this team rather than continue to hold onto future assets.

I think we see some significant moves being made this offseason by utilizing our war chest.

Yeah Goodluck with him forcing his way out.

And if he did. The haul is gonna be massive.

That being said. If we fail with zion, I think I'm okay with us not landing another superstar on this caliber again for a while. The individual is elite but the team is bad, we get put in a predicament where the time line is different. Look at other up and coming stars, their team sucks but they grow at the same time as the team and then the team blossoms. Luka and Dallas are a prime example too.

Mitchell/gobert
Lillars/McCollum
Wall/Beal
Curry/Thompson/green

Even fricking okc with durant/Westbrook/harden

Adding up the pressure on Griffin with the potential to see a significant move using assets does not engender confidence in a positive result.

Is Zion's family members unhappy or is Zion unhappy?

Because respectfully, I don't give two shits about his family.

You really don't think his mom has a say in his life?

Reporters to Zion's "Family Members": "Would you rather live in New Orleans or New York? How about Nola or Chicago? LA? Miami?

Reporters on the Athletic: OMFG Zion wants out of Nola!!!!!

I could be wrong but if Zion was truly happy (which he isn’t-watch that exit interview), I think his family would just let him be happy and this story wouldn’t be coming out.

I think Zion’s anger has only been intensifying watching New York, Ja, Trae, and Luka having success in and/or making the playoffs. All of those teams, minus Dallas were thought to be in a worse position than we were when Zion was drafted, yet they are running circles around us.

Another aspect is this, with all the injuries, I really think the Pels missed out on a golden opp this year. This could have been a WCF team with a better offseason and closing of games during the season. Zion and Co probably think this as well.

With as big of a family guy as Zion is, I think that's it's silly to dismiss how they may feel.

But, winning fixes everything. Getting upset over stuff like this is exhausting. Just win and then see where we are with the family.

Man I miss the old days where dudes took accountability and were leaders.

Dudes from the 80’s/90’s must think these dudes are a bunch of babies. No wonder this league is so top heavy. No one is willing to put in the work.

This has been a pretty open 'secret' around the Pels org. This was why I thought Griff would gravitate towards TSpoon as coach.

Not a lot of time left to appease Z and his family.

The guy lives with his family. His StepDad is his closest advisor and trainer. His mom is his 'dietician'. They are VERY involved in his life and decision making process. They are overbearing, BUT you absolutely give two shits.

He is def mad but watch out for the mom. She is the driving force.

Griffin better .ake some trades and get some talent around zion though cause he wasn't happy when losing.

Hopefully Zion eventually grows up.

It was ridiculous when we learned last year that his mom was acting as his dietician and the team wanted him to get a real one. Somehow that was our fault.

He's not growing up in the next year or so. I think this is part of the reason the coaching search is being put more on the plate of Trajan and Swinn.

Because Griff is next in line for the guillotine? Or because Griff admitted in his presser that he's not good at picking coaches?

If true that is some entitled, pathetic bullshite. This is Zion's team and we want to build around him. What more do you want? Oh right, big sexy market.

This isn't college, they can't just whore him out to the highest bidder (Duke).
