I think we are talking about different things. I don’t give a shite if he liked the city

I’m just saying to the people who kept saying players don’t want to play in New Orleans since it’s a small city. We are one of the top all star games destination area. It’s the organization that has to prove their worth.

It's probably worth a different thread, but other than nightlife for a young guy why exactly is LA or NY or Miami preferred destination for NBA Players?

Like, why don't players want to go to Orlando? I mean I know it's not the best run organization but in terms of city? It's got a lot of great amenities, great schools, beautiful weather...I know because I'm moving there in a week.

Team USA basketball brainwashes these guys tbh. It’s just a way for a bunch of young players to get influenced by players they used to be fans of before they made it into the league.

Most of the guys carrying the Torch for the league are guys that bailed on their initial teams to band up and make superteams and it’s kind if created a never ending cycle. If you dare to go against the grain like Dame has, your loyalty is rewarded by first rd exits every year.

Also the media being insufferable as frick.

Lived in Orlando for 15 years, it's really not that great. It's average.

because people are trained to identify with team - having 7 million potential fans watching games, paying to attend and buying clothes is a far superior market to the piddling markets that dont have teams.

That’s true to an extent, at the same time the only difference between New Orleans being perceived the way Memphis is, comes from the poor organizational management.

Just like the miracle Monty run, if the team was winning none of this would be going on. If the team was winning the NO coaching job would be the cream of the crop. But organizational dysfunction is what is trending us toward relocation talk.

And I am much less convinced of the narrative that Gayle is all in on the Pelicans. I think she would obviously like it to succeed and take credit for it, which is why the investments and Griff hire, but I also don’t think she would meltdown if in 2024 a godfather offer from Seattle comes in and the league thinks the gulf coast market is a lost cause.

Orlando has beautiful weather? We have different opinions on good weather.

Hot as balls and humid is not good imo.

100% true on the ownership, but the odds we were going to win a title was slim either way, and without a title, the odds of him leaving after the 2nd contract were super high.

And 1 more, the odds of him still being a Pel right now at 36 are about as slim as could be.
