Welp, it's done: the liberals won in the SBC election

As Litton turbocharges Russell Moore's agenda, I suspect you'll see a good number of churches cut ties from the SBC completely. Cuckoldry won the ship (by %2 in a close runoff vote, but it still won). Litton has promised that Critical Race Theory won't be taught in the seminaries on his watch, but I don't think anyone really believes him. He came to prominence using Michael Brown to cudgel white churchgoers. Yes, THAT dirtbag. We've seen this path play out too many times before to be fooled. "All we want is respect from you straights, its not like we're asking to be married or get your kids or anything".
One of the things you notice most in the news is that those cheering hardest for this are those that hate the church the most, especially in the press.
Oh, and Litton is telling people that "he's the one that can unite the church". Unite. LOL. How Bidenesque.

I heard the Italians hacked it with a new satellite.

There is only one message the SBC should be worried about. That is ensuring their platforms just teach the Bible. We don’t need to be taught how to be socially accepted so people will attend. The Bible already teaches that. I don’t know what this guy believes differently but hopefully, for his souls sake, he doesn’t mess this one up. If he does, there will be a mass exodus. .

He also recently co-preached a sermon with his wife. SBC is DONE

That fraud David French was pleased with the outcome

Too late for that. In 2019, there was an SBC resolution accepting CRT is "an analytical framework outside the Bible" to study the issue of "racial reconciliation". Again, not enough LOL's.
Tomorrow they're voting on a resolution to "condemn the January 6th assault on the capitol". At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it passes.
This is the Episcopals and the Methodists and Lutherans in the 70's/80's all over again. We've seen this movie before, and we know how it ends: empty pews and shrinking attendance. It's Leftward-Ho from this point on. Nothing to do now but gather the like-minded and get out and make your own association.
Prediction: within 3-5 years, the SBC will be ordaining women, and they'll do a big PR campaign to make the SBC more gay-friendly. Their path is pretty clear at this point.

That was an extremely deceptive move in committee. The original resolution was very anti-CRT, but the wording was changed 180 degrees in committee and the original author’s name stayed on it. I don’t think very many knew what they were actually endorsing once it came out of committee.

Well, you still have police unions and talk radio to hang on to.

I’ll be seeing a family member that’s pretty involved with the SBC soon, and will be curious to hear some inside scoop on this all and what they think about it

There is so much brewing in the SBC right now it’s l one big mishap from imploding.
The Executive Committee is under investigation and a bad report from that will bring about such a black eye the convention will never recover.
The CRT crap being pushed is wedging a divide.
Missions are the only thing that keeps the average pastor from just walking away.
As for the presidential election there wasn’t a good option.
Al Mohler - Southern Seminary President where CRT is entrenched.
Ed Litton - Not the best option but likely the lesser of the evils. I’ve had a few encounters with him and he was a decent guy.
Mike Stone - Just as dirty as Russell Moore, Al, and the others. A Page Patterson lackey. You know that guy right? The one who lost his job for covering up sexual abuse. His whole Conservative Baptist bit was funded by money Page skimmed off of Southwestern Seminary.
As the relative of a leader in the Arkansas Baptist circles I know the dirt and the SBC upper crust is full of it. The problem is we don’t have an Adrian Rogers or Charles Stanley to pull us from the throws of liberalism like we did in the 80’s.

Sorry to hear the SBC has been infiltrated just like the Catholic church has.

There is no facet of human life that isn't affected by politics. It's unescapable. Church, school, business, everything.

Head to a Reformed Baptist church if you can. If none are around, go to a conservative Presbyterian denomination like the OPC or a conservative PCA church.
Folks need to get back to the scriptures.

CRT is leaking into SBC linked universities. It is a soft introduction at some, but it is slowly making it's way in.

Thanks for these recommendations. Was wondering what other conservative denominations were out there. Do they allow church autonomy like the SBC does or do the conventions own the churches? This is a big deal to me.
ETA: I'd really like to know how my church's delegation voted on this and the other resolutions at the convention. Are the votes made public, or would my church delegation have to disclose that info?

I prefer Presbyterianism, myself, for several reasons including the biblical nature of it and the practicality of having the broader church to help out if a pastor, session, or local presbytery goes off the rails in error.

I was a member of a Reformed Baptist church for several years and they were conservative, Bible-believing, God-honoring people and I was blessed to worship and fellowship with them.
My grandparents belong to a SBC congregation so I’m curious how their delegation voted, as well.

PCA is on a similar trajectory as the SBC. In fact, they may be I little ahead of the SBC in that regard.

I know Litton, he's pastor here in Saraland of the biggest church in town. A commie he isn't.
He's not what you'd call old school Southern Baptist, but out of the choices you had, he was the best option.
